Comments about Weston Stainless Steel Dual Scale Thermometer 3" Dial with 6" Stem (Temperature Range 25-125 Deg F or 50 Deg C):
Was looking forward to owning and using this legendary thermometer again for the first time since the 1970s. Unfortunately, the thermometer I received leaked fluids from the very first use and, more unfortunately, the manufacturer had no interest in remedying the problem. To their credit, B+H put everything right but, for me, the damage was done: poor quality control and no customer service from the manufacturer outweigh the benefit of rapid temperature response and large, easy-to-read dial.

I bought this thermometer after my trusty glass thermometer was cracked. Weston thermometer is strong, have a large dial and the silvered band under the pointer allows fast reading. Actually it is easier to read Fahrenheit degrees then Celsius. The scale comes to balance after a few seconds the stem is immersed into the developer although it is not instantaneous. Don't drop this thermometer into a liquid; it may not be water resistant.

Very large easy to read dial. More consistent than my old glass thermometer. Doesn't take so long to register temperature as glass thermometers. A little more expensive than others but well worth it to me.

This is the finest darkroom thermometer you can buy. The large, 3-inch dial makes it easy to read under safelight conditions or to check it from across the room under white light. The face of thermometer contains a silvered band under the pointer that allows you to correct for any parallax errors when viewing the thermometer. You always know you are getting the correct reading.
Weston's smaller thermometer (1.75-inches) has all the features of this one but in a scaled down size.
