The Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5 EX DC HSM Autofocus Zoom is a super-wide angle lens with a relatively bright f/3.5 maximum aperture throughout its zoom range, helping to ensure high image quality. The lens gathers enough light to make it a great choice for indoor shooting as well as landscapes and creative portraiture. This version of the lens is exclusively made to fit the Pentax lens mount. It is not intended for use in "full frame" digital SLR cameras, or for any film-based cameras.
With a wide angle viewing range of 102.4-63.8°, this lens can empower a photographer to produce creative images with exaggerated perspective. Its Super Multi-Layer coating reduces flare and ghosting. The HSM autofocus motor provides quiet, high speed operation. You can also shoot with manual focus.
The 10-20 f/3.5 EX DC HSM incorporates an inner focusing system to eliminate front lens rotation, which enables the lens to use the included petal-type bayonet hood to eliminate extraneous light from striking the front of the optic. Two ELD (Extraordinary Low Dispersion) glass elements and a SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass element provide excellent color fidelity, and 4 aspherical lens elements provide correction for common distortions.
This lens has a minimum focusing distance of 9.4" (24cm) throughout the entire zoom range, and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:6.6.
Note! Vignetting will occur if the lens is used with 35mm SLR cameras or digital cameras with image sensors larger than APS-C size

Comments about Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5 EX DC HSM Autofocus Zoom Lens for Pentax:
As a somewhat advanced amateur, I appreciate the added scope in focal length that this wide angle, rectalinear lens lends to my 'kit,' which now include this 10mm-20mm, 17mm-70mm, 50mm-200mm, and 300mm. I use a Pentax SLR and the Sigma lenses make a fine and economical contribution.
The constant f/3.5 aperture provides good lower-light (fog for instance) capability with focal flexability for composing a wide landscape scene. I have found the results clear and cridp, with very good contrast that alows flexibility in post processing.
All in all, I like this lens a lot and consider it a staple of my personal lens choices. A good value--not the least expensive wide angle, but a fine value for my Pentax given its constant aperture.

Comments about Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5 EX DC HSM Autofocus Zoom Lens for Pentax:
I shoot a lot at our local boat basin/marina and when on the docks shooting is tough because the boats are packed in pretty tightly. Well, this lens really opens things up and makes individual "boat portraits" not only possible but also exciting-- provides interesting perspective distortion. One has to get used to that and use it as appropriate. It also makes a useful landscape lens when a good foreground can be found. Finally, it really opens up enclosed spaces, i.e. interiors. Curvilinear (barrel) distortionis only slight-moderate. This lens is good sized w/ 82mm filter, and on the heavy side, but balances well on a dslr, and it is well built.

This lens is absolutely great for scenery and landscape. I did a lot of research for a good wide-angle lens and for the price this lens was definitely my favorite. It makes any picture look more artistic, use it with any subject! I almost never take it off my camera.
