The Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5 EX DC HSM Autofocus Zoom is a super-wide angle lens with a relatively bright f/3.5 maximum aperture throughout its zoom range, helping to ensure high image quality. The lens gathers enough light to make it a great choice for indoor shooting as well as landscapes and creative portraiture. This version of the lens is exclusively for use with Sigma's digital SLR cameras, such as the SD10 and SD14.
With a wide angle viewing range of 102.4-63.8°, this lens can empower a photographer to produce creative images with exaggerated perspective. Its Super Multi-Layer coating reduces flare and ghosting, and a HSM autofocus motor provides quiet operation, high speed, and perhaps most important the ability to manually override focus position at any time.
The 10-20 f/3.5 EX DC HSM incorporates an inner focusing system to eliminate front lens rotation, which also makes the lens able to use an included petal-type bayonet hood to eliminate extraneous light from striking the front of the optic. Two ELD (Extraordinary Low Dispersion) glass elements and a SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass element provide excellent color fidelity, and 4 aspherical lens elements provide correction for common distortions.
This lens has a minimum focusing distance of 9.4" (24cm) throughout the entire zoom range, and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:6.6.
Note! Vignetting will occur if the lens is used with 35mm SLR cameras or digital cameras with image sensors larger than APS-C size

This is an amazing piece of glass. Tried it out in the store and instantly fell in love with it. It's got a great feel to it and you know you've got quality in your hands.
Indoors : It works amazingly, even for 3.5 I'm able to get my whole family in there and see everyone's pretty or ugly face.
How wide is wide? : Pretty darn wide in the store alone I was able to see almost the entire level and it was sharp as could be considering it was hand held. 10-20 is amazing and for this price?
Build Quality : Love it, it feels like I've got a piece of real good quality glass in my hands when I hold this thing, and on my D90 it provides great balance.
Overall I love this lens and it's a must have for any landscape photographers collection. As an amateur myself I'm sure it would work even better in the hands of a pro.
The only reason I write that it's heavy is per it's durability not necessarily that it feels weighty and a pain to carry around.
