Comments about Apple AirPort Extreme Card for Mac Pro (Early 2009 "Nehalem"):
I recently purchased a refurbished Mac Pro and they wouldn't install this at the factory. So I ordered it here. I found Zabdi's review and instructions here helpful. I used his tips and other instructions with photos that I found on the internet. The location was different from the photos I found but the location was easy to spot (hook up on the lower part of the Mac). But it was fairly easy to install. Aside from it being a little bit difficult attach the wires because of my fat fingers, no problems. It worked as soon as I powered up the machine. I was happy that I didn't lug the machine all the way to an Apple Store for installation. That would have been by far the greater hassle.

Comments about Apple AirPort Extreme Card for Mac Pro (Early 2009 "Nehalem"):
This card allows my new MacPro to wirelessly communicate to all my Apple express units in the house and to two other Macs. It does not seem as strong as the one I had on my 2006 MacPro but still works. Set up was difficult because of working in such small space but was able to do it.

Comments about Apple AirPort Extreme Card for Mac Pro (Early 2009 "Nehalem"):
I bought this card to upgrade my Core Duo (first generation) Macbook Pro. I was surprised at how simple and easy the installation was. While I thought disassembling the computer would be a challenge, it turned out to be very straightforward. So far the only negative I have on this product is that I didn't do the upgrade sooner! Excellent product, great price, [...]; I can't think of anything else I'd want.

A little difficult to install but not impossible, Used wires 2 & 3 for the antenna. This device is very small like 2 1/2 postage stamps, and to install, just take your time.

Comments about Apple AirPort Extreme Card for Mac Pro (Early 2009 "Nehalem"):
This wireless card fits my new "Nehalem" early 2009 mac pro. It is the 2.66 quad version. Installing it was not problem. The card came with the necessary screws. All I had to do was take the cover off the side of the computer and pull out the CPU cage (disengage the two bottom levers and pull). With the computer laying on its side, you will notice a card slot toward the front of the computer. There are three wires that are numbered. The 2 wire is capped and remains that way. All I did was snap the 1 and 3 wires (one is shorter which lets you know what side of the card it goes to) on to the card (I did it with my bare hands, some websites say to use needlenose wrapped in electrical tape to avoid damaging the card), insert the card into its slot and screw it into place with the two screws. The hardest part was keeping from dropping the screws since it woudln't be smart to use a magnetic tip inside the case.I plugged the computer in and it immediately recognized the card and started working. I checked in profiler to make sure that it recognized it as a wireless "n" card, and it did. Some have reported having to pay apple the $1.99 to enable the "n", but mine was already enabled. It has worked great for the past two weeks now. Total install time was about 30 minutes. It may be better to go to the apple store if you live close to one because I have read that you can actually get them to install it and the total price is cheaper than just buying the card elsewhere. However, I live 2 hours from the nearest store. It was no harder installing it myself than it would have been to unplug everything and drive over to the store. Actually, it took considerable less time and effort.[...]

I ordered the AIRPORT WIRELESS CARD f/MAC PRO for a great price [...]. It is very difficult to install, however which is of course not the fault of B&H. There were no instructions, and instructions are also difficult to find online, since Apple has changed the position and connection of the card in recent Mac Pro's.

Comments about Apple AirPort Extreme Card for Mac Pro (Early 2009 "Nehalem"):
Fully integrated with my Mac Pro! I was debating whether to get this or a USB based wifi card. I decided on this device because of the following:
- I was never going to transfer it from machine to machine based on me keeping my Mac Pro for a few more years.
- Fully integrated with OSX
- Antennas built into Mac Pro so I get a decent signal.
Although this is "suppose to be" installed by Apple or a certified Apple technician, I was able to get this installed in about 30-45 mins myself. The only problem I had was getting the antenna connector to connect to the Airport card. Now that I know how it how it snaps together, I could probably install one in 15 mins...
