The Brother HL-5340D High Speed Laser Printer With Auto Duplexer produces crisp, high-quality monochrome documents at 1200 x 1200dpi, at fast print speeds of up to 32 pages-per-minute. The HL-5340D features automatic duplex printing for producing professional looking two-sided documents.

This is a fantastic printer. If you print B&W text documents like I do it is the best printer selection possible in my opinion. It prints 10x the amount of text documents compared to an inkjet, and it being a monochrome printer, it has a very reasonable price.
The best part is that it prints transparencies and has a recycled paper setting.
If any past reviews say this printer is hard to work with in Windows 7, they fixed that problem. My printer came with a windows 7 CD and it works just fine, the first time, without having to call anyone for help.

The Brother HL-5340D is nearly flawless. It's easy to put the cartridge in the machine, and what other small printer will give you 5000 pp. per cartridge? It seldom jams, is easily fixed, prints text, my main use, quickly and cleanly. Only one problem that I see: the on-off button is not on top and easily reached.

I've had this printer a few months now, and I really like it. The print quality is great. It was very easy to set up. I have only two complaints. It does a poor job on envelopes. It wrinkles them badly. My 2nd complaint is that it really uses a lot of power on initial power on. It even dims my room lights. Other than that, it's a great printer.

Got tired of constantly buying ink for my Epson when all I was using was black ink. This works great. So much faster than my inkjet. Setup was quick and simple. Love that I can turn on and off the duplex printing. Also, very nice that I can track overall usage as well and have the ability to change the toner usage settings.

I use this printer to frequently print letters. Print and graphics quality is quite satisfactory. But when it comes to printing envelopes it's another story. The rear flap must be lowered and two levers mounted at the back of the printer repositioned. Envelopes are then spit out the back of the printer. To return to regular printing the above steps must be reversed. It's a real nuisance.

Used for printing letters and some graphics. Print quality is clean and satisfactory.
It's another story when it comes to printing envelopes. To do so you have to reconfigure the printer by dropping the back cover and reposition two internally mounted levers. The printer then spits out printed envelopes from the back side. To return to normal printing you must reverse the above steps. This is a real nuisance.
And for printing on heavy stock the same procedure is necessary. Again not convenient.
