I recently upgraded my laptop from 4 to 8 GB. First I opened Task mgr; performance; then monitor to see if i was maxing memory out while running some memory hungry programs. I was and so researched RAM and found there are only a few manufacturers and Crucial was one and had clean customer reviews. I am very pleased with the speed and reliable no issue performance I now enjoy.

I wasn't sure how much I would accomplish by upgrading my HP dv5 from 2x2GB DDR2 PC2-6400 SODIMMs to this 8GB Crucial kit, and I was very reluctant to buy anything online after a previous bad experience. I'm so glad I did it. I never thought I would hear so little sound coming from my laptop while it is doing so much.. surfing, burning, searching.. all at the same time (for comparison purposes, it's a 2.1 GHz AMD Turion X2 Ultra Dual Core processor). [...] Two things: 1) Don't freak out when you see PC2-5300 on the package. It's mislabeled, and your computer will verify for you that it is PC2-6400. [...] Still, I'm very happy with my product, you won't find it at a lower price, and I would buy again from B&H. Last tip: With the extra space, force your OS to keep executables on your RAM. It makes a difference.
