Comments about Morris 11175 Digital Mini Slave Wide:
I was introduced to the Morris Mini at David Tejada's Small Strobes Big Results seminar about a year ago and finally decided I needed one (or probably more) for my own lighting kit. The compact size makes the Mini a terrific solution for adding a little extra light in a tight space where a hot shoe flash wouldn't fit.
They do what they're supposed to do: no fancy controls, one level of output. But used within their design spec, they do a great job!
I did discover after testing that the Mini will not trigger off my Nikon Speedlights when using the Speedlights with the CLS system (i.e., driven by the SU-800 commander). I don't know if this is the case with the Canon system as I've not tested it under that condition. When triggering the remote Speedlights via CLS (using the Nikon SU-800 commander, or popup flash in commander mode), the Mini does fire off the Speedlight's flash, but out of sync, so it doesn't contribute to the image. However, if I trigger the remote Speedlights via radio trigger (e.g., PocketWizard), the Mini works fine and syncs as expected.
Customer support at the Morris company was terrific when I called to inquire about the sync issue.
