I have a 2800 sq house. I use it for xbox 360 and slingbox upstairs, while the router is downstairs on the opposite corner of the house. It streams 720p HD perfectly. Have yet to try 1080p, but my tv doesnt handle 1080p upstairs
Pros: Plug and play, streams 720p from computer, allows 4 devices to plug in
Cons: Not really a con for me, but it gets anywhere from 55-100 mbps, so nowhere near advertised, but its enough for streaming HD video. However, note these speeds are dependent on your house.

Set up my new HDTV complete with it's WIFI connection and Netflix straming was marginal. 2-3 times per movie, it would "rebuffer", a real pain. Had great WIFI signal, it's just the nature of any WIFI where the speeds are not constant.
Installed this Netgear product, small unit at my router, 4-port unit at the TV end (used another port for the Blue-Ray player) and BINGO, no more re-buffering on Netflix. Movies play great. Getting at least 80 MBps and just plug and play. A no-brainer! Some complain about dim LED's but that's a plus for me as I want to hide the device anyway.

I've been using Wi-Fi on my game consoles for years, as I don't want to destroy my apartment trying to run ethernet between rooms. Unfortunately, the range isn't great and occasional interference causes issues with streaming video to my PS3.
When I first heard about powerline adapters, I figured there was no way they could be effective. Then I heard they were faster than wireless, and after reading all the good reviews I had to see for myself. Sure enough, I average 112Mbps on this kit. Streaming video is now silky smooth.
