The SVAT PI1000 is a DVR and color camera contained inside a compact and realistic looking PIR motion sensor. People seeing it will dismiss it as just another sensor of some kind on a wall and will pay no further attention to it. This makes it an excellent choice for applications looking for an all-in-one monitoring and recording solution in a unit that is compact, easy to install and use, and most importantly discreet.
Video is recorded in the MPEG-4 format and is stored to the included 512MB SD card, which goes right inside the DVR. Recording can be continuous or set to begin when motion is detected. Given its limited storage resources, most users will program it for motion recording. To further conserve storage space, users can choose between different quality settings and recording speeds.
Recorded footage can be viewed by transferring the SD card to a computer or by attaching the unit to a TV monitor via its RCA connection. This unit operates on the included AC adapter or on 4 AA batteries (not included).
