The Teleskopschiene or Telescope Rail from Swarovski is a secure and stable quick-release mounting platform for ATS/STS and STM/ATM spotting scopes.
The lower section of this unique mount can be attached to a tripod, while the uppermost section is designed to fit snugly to the spotting scope - the scope's foot attaches securely to the main part of the plate, while two rubber isolation mounts cradle the scope's housing. One shock mount is permanent, while the other can be switched out to accommodate the particular scope being mounted (angled/straight).
Once the two separate sections of the Teleskopscheine are fitted onto their respective devices, the top plate attached to the scope can be slid onto the lower plate - flipping the locking lever clamps the top and bottom plates together securely. The entire assembly can now be mounted to a tripod for viewing.
The Teleskopscheine greatly reduces setup time, and it provides an extremely stable three-point mount for the scope. Releasing the locking lever allows the scope to be slid forward or backward to achieve the greatest amount of stability - once the positioning is perfected, the locking lever can be reset to secure the scope in place.
The lower plate of Teleskopschiene is fitted with a removable quick-release plate that is compatible with Swarovski's FH101 fluid head - it can be removed and swapped out with most 1/4-20" QR plates or mounted directly to the tripod's head.

Comments about Swarovski Teleskopschiene - Telescope Rail:
I bought the Scope Rail because I like to use my Swarovski scope and Canon EOS D400 camera to do digiscoping of birds. Without the rail, the camera unbalances the scope seriously. The rail works brilliantly. I leave it attached and just slide it forward or back to get perfect balance for either the scope by itself or with the camera attached. Great product!

Comments about Swarovski Teleskopschiene - Telescope Rail:
I bought this rail, to help balance the weight of an DSLR camera connected to a Swarovski STS65 spotting scope w/ 20X-60X eyepiece mounted on a tripod. Also to balance an DSLR connected to a Swarovski TLS800, connected directly to the same spotting scope without an eyepiece. (Both are digiscoping set-ups.) ) The foot of the scope locks firmly into the rail and can slide about 5 inches adding nice balance flexibility. It locks on the rail in the position you want. This rail can be used with any tripod by simply removing the attached plate and replacing it with whatever tripod head plate you want. The mechanism is solid, the quality is very good. Improved stability.

Comments about Swarovski Teleskopschiene - Telescope Rail:
Simple, easy to use design.
I use it with my Swarovski scope and a Nikon SLR camera for digiscoping. The balance makes attaching the camera to the scope possible (as opposed to just holding the camera up to the lens).
It was worth it to me for that alone. Being able to use the scope without a tripod (just resting in on a table, etc) is an added bonus. More for fun than anything, since I'm not really going to do that as a rule.
