Comments about DXG-U579VS Underwater Pack:
I bought this so I could have something compact that does picture and video with good resolution, and go to the beach without worrying about water or sand, and it works reasonably well for what I wanted...at least in the daytime. Don't expect to take any pictures at night or in any low-light situation. The light on the camera and the "night mode" help a little bit, but I have found it nearly impossible to take pictures or video at night. When lit, though, the pictures are great. Haven't tried it underwater yet, but the casing looks pretty sturdy, and should hold up.
All-in-all, it's pretty good for the price, just know that you'll have to have a second camera to take indoor or night pictures.
