The PICSIO GC-FM1 HD Memory Camera (Black Ice) from JVC is the company's first foray into the world of pocket camcorders. The GC-FM1 features the same point-and-shoot simplicity as the rest of the pack and brings 1080p HD recording along with 8Mp still capture to the table. The camera has a 2" OLED screen, simple to use controls, and a digital image stabilizer to cut down on motion blur and shake.
Video and still images are recorded to SD/SDHC memory cards up to 32GB (not included) on the GC-FM1. The camera records in an Internet-friendly format, meaning your footage is ready for instant uploading to the Internet for sharing on social media sites or via email. That same file format also makes it easy to store your videos to iTunes for carrying all your memories on your iPod or iPhone. And when you want to share all the action on your HDTV the HDMI mini connection allows for high definition sharing with just one cord.

I thought it was the best thing that I had got from my wedding but turns out it isnt. It doesnt have a light on it, and it doesnt have anyway to email the video's. My grandmother got us this thinking that we could use it to video our baby girl that will be here in july but I cant even seem to send a video to her that was only 8mins long, I tried to edit the video into four two min videos but still nothing works. I guess it would be perfect for someone who wasnt wanting to share there videos

Comments about JVC PICSIO GC-FM1 HD Memory Camera (Black Ice):
All the specs tout 1080P, but that's a little bit of a misrepresentation. It does do 1080P, but its 1440x1080P, NOT anamorphic, which means unlike HDV, it does not readily expand to 1920x1080P which is pretty much the 1080P standard. Since finding this out, I also noticed that most of the cameras of this genre use this weird 1440x1080 format, so that puts it on par with the others. However, it does 1280x720P in addition, which is also HD and is very well suited to YouTube HD. I've posted a few YouTube HD vids from this camera and they turn out great. For an HD camera, I love its portability. Not much bigger than a deck of cards, this thing fits in my shirt pocket and is easy to pull out for those unexpected moments. If it wasn't for the screwball 1440x1080 limitation of the camera I would have given it five stars. Recording to data chip is the only way to go. I sort of agree with the other user that the bundled video software is a bit lacking, but there are so many software alternatives out there (even some free), that I don't consider this a detraction. I would recommend this to friends.
