Comments about Bower SFD35S Digital Flash:
This flash is light duty flash that plugs directly into the whole line of Sony Alpha DLSR without any adapters or converters. It is not a high quality solid flash, but more of consumer product. Head rotate, tilt and zoom are standard which makes this a decent flash for close quarters shooting. Add a bunch of reflectors and it is reasonably good for product shots if you bounce the flash from a few reflectors. Build quality is a little flimsy but the bottom line is the flash is [$] not $450 or $550. Are there better flashes out there? Yes. Do you really want to pour more money into Sony's stupid non-standard flash mount? No. Would it be great if the flash had a charger and battery pack? Yes, Do I like pumping AA batteries into this thing every 2 hours? No, But, If you are looking to make your Alpha setup last a bit longer without spending a fortune this flash will work. And for [$] you really can't complain.

Comments about Bower SFD35S Digital Flash:
I compare this flash to my old Vivitar Thyristor Flash from the "analog" film era. I must admit that I was expecting a little more quality but the flash does work. It just seems a litlle weak and delicate. But looking at the price and comparing it to the other higher value brands it seems reasonable. Also need to consider this is usually a second step flash as all cameras now have a built in flash for everyday usage. So if you want quality buy something else. If you want value for money go for this.
