Panasonic MIC150 Shotgun Microphone for HMC150 & HMC40 Camcorders
The Panasonic MIC150 is a phantom-powered electret shotgun microphone designed for use with the AG-HMC150 and AG-HMC40 HD camcorders. It uses a 3-pin XLR male plug to connect to the optional AG-MYA30G Mic Adapter, which mounts on top of the camera.

Small and compact and works well, definitely an improvement with interview situations. Actually works to balance the camera while shooting handheld when using a bigger battery pack.

I haven't gotten much use out of it yet because I have been using a wireless mic more, but it improves the sound quality from what use I have gotten out of it.

I've beeen a radio station DJ and production director for nearly 25-years. I've worked with some of the best (and worst) equipment on the market. So when I spent less than $200 for the Panasonic MIC150 Shotgun Microphone, my expectations were not very high... but at least I'd have a mic to pick up the unidirectional audio sources I shot on video, to augment my wireless and hand held mics. I WAS SO PLEASANTLY SURPRIZED! Not only does the 150 deliver far more audio quality than I expected... it even outperforms mics for which I've paid much more. Particularly if you've purchased the Panasonic HMC150 or HMC40 video camera, (this mic was designed for those cameras)you'll get your money's worth and then some.
