This product was purchased to receive HD Off-Air programs as well as a monitor for remote video production. We are very impressed with the picture quality, audio quality and ability to receive Off-Air HD stations.
There seems to be some problems and we are working with Viore to attempt to resolve them.
What we have experienced is that the memory (clock and favorites) are not remembered after the battery is re-charged.
The re-chargeable battery is sealed inside the unit and there is not option to use normal batteries. Viore informed us that once the battery no longer works, we are required to take it to a TV repair shop and have the battery replaced, but they did not provide us with the specifics of the replacement battery.
The audio and video inputs on this unit are 3.5 mm plugs, but seems to only work if the plug is removed slightly.
Regarding the small portable HD antenna (included), it worked great picking up all of the HD station in the Los Angeles area.

Comments about Viore PLC7V96 7" Portable LCD Television:
I use this product to catch TV shows and football games when I can't be home. The picture is good. Set up is pretty basic. The rechargeable battery only last 1.5 hours. The unit does not come with a car charger. Hooking up a coax connector that is threaded is difficult to do because the input is recessed. If these issues were addressed, this would be a pretty good TV.

The picture on this TV is terrific! I wanted a portable TV, and was impressed with the quality of the picture, as well as the large size of the screen. Much better than my last one that was a 2" square screen!

I couldn't get it to work on cable and it has an antenna, which you really can't use in NY anymore. So it would have just been a cool photo wallet since I couldn;t use the tv.

I bought this little TV to use as a monitor for my VHS camera, but its features have surprised me. The tuner picks up so many local stations that I fired my cable company. Very impressive display, and the SD card slot is an extra added bonus. I hooked it up to my surround sound system and blew the windows apart! I'm happier with this unit than I expected.

Good product , great value and far outshines its competition , would be great if they had a mount for it for the car or better yet a charging dock but as it sits its a great way to catch those games in times that you wish you could have .

Comments about Viore PLC7V96 7" Portable LCD Television:
We purchased the TV primarily as part of our emergency preparedness plan.(after the fact) During the east coast snowstorm we were without power for 60+ hours, stranded in our home by impassable roads.
Once set up, I was amazed at the clarity of the picture. The sound is somewhat "tinny". But then again...this was purchased for our emergency prep kit. All in all, a good value for what appears to be a quality product.

Comments about Viore PLC7V96 7" Portable LCD Television:
I really wanted to give it 3.5 stars. This is a decent little TV. I bought it to use as a viewfinder for my HD camcorder when it's mounted on my tall monopod. It works fairly well for that. I used a 3.5mm stereo plug to RCA cable from a still camera, along with an RCA to RCA coupler to feed the live video from the camcorder to the TV. The picture is clear and moderately bright.
I also tried it with the supplied antenna, which was pretty funny. I'm far from the TV stations and only got two channels badly. Connected to CATV worked better. It found all the analog and QAM HD stations. The picture is a little messy for a few seconds while it buffers up an HD station you tune in to. After it fusses a bit, it will settle down to a steady clean picture. The picture could be brighter. I'd like it brighter.
The digital picture frame facility isn't bad. It's simple and a little messy to get going, but will finally do a decent slide show. Again, it could be brighter. It would be better if it were brighter.
So far I'd say the battery life is as advertised at about 90 minutes. The battery recharges pretty fast. Way faster than the 8 hours indicated in the instructions.
The sound is OK, but not great. The speakers are small and have little low-end response.

Comments about Viore PLC7V96 7" Portable LCD Television:
This is a good unit and excellent value for its intended use, HOWEVER, my experience was unacceptable.
I am a working professional in the video industry. In addition to having a portable TV to use during storms and other emergencies, I also wanted an inexpensive device to monitor video in the field. For techies, the 3.5mm video input jack is wired awkwardly [tip-ring instead of tip-sleeve]. Further, when switched to Normal (4x3 aspect), the image was noticeably compressed horizontally, nearly a square 3x3. Wide screen Tuner signals were fine.
I tried calling Viore Tech Support to determine if I had a defective unit or if it was a design flaw. On three occasions I was placed in queue for 30 minutes. When my time arrived for "Next In Queue" my call was dumped. 3 Times! Goodbye.
Other notes:
Antenna not designed for mobile use. Stationary reception is excellent if you are within digital range. Can be used with an external or attic antenna.
Fully charged battery MAY give you 90 minutes continuous. This would be problematic during power outages.
Acceptable yet low-fidelity speakers, but hey, it's a portable.
I am tempted to re-order in the hopes this was an anomaly, but the lack of response from Viore really concerns me, and I would hate to waste everyone's time & money again if the design is at fault.
Had it worked properly and, most importantly, had I been able to talk to the company, I would have given it Five Stars and sold at least a half dozen more for them."
