Creative Light 1x3' Recessed Front Softbox
The softbox is one of the basic tools of lighting--softening, diffusing and directing the light in a controlled way. The Creative Light 1x3' Recessed Front Softbox is 1x3' (30x90 cm). This softbox has an external and an internal diffuser, both attached with touch fasteners. An optional soft grid can be attached to the front, reducing the angle of light to 50°. The size and shape of the subject dictates the size and shape of the softbox you use for a main light--smaller softboxes for smaller subjects, larger ones for larger subjects. The softbox can also be used as a fill light or an accent light. All-steel support rods are included. Dedicated speedrings for most popular brands of flash head are available separately.

I use this softbox to edge and backlight boudoir photos and portraits. It also works well as a key light in tight spaces. I've been an elinchrom fan for a long time and have 2 large octabanks and a beauty dish but the scale of those products is problematic when it comes to fast paced location shoots and small spaces. I opted to try creative light because the elinchrom strip light is so pricy and larger than I wanted. I bought 2 of these with grids for both and I LOVE them. My only criticisms are that the softboxes are a little challenging to remove from the heads and the velcro on the grid is incredible strong to the point of being overkill.
