- Automatic Scene Recognition (SR Auto)
- Using advanced SR Auto technology, the Z37 matches your composition with one of six scene-specific capture modes. The camera automatically selects Portrait, Landscape, Night, Macro, Night Portrait, or the Backlit Portrait scene mode based on data collected. Exposure, white balance, and focus are all optimized for your photo, ensuring the highest quality image possible.
- High Sensitivity
- Indoors, at night, or in the midst of fast-moving action; high sensitivity (ISO 1600) makes it easy to take bright, clear photos regardless of the conditions.
- Face Detection
- Face Detection optimizes people pictures by identifying faces and adjusting focus and exposure to ensure bright, clear results. The advanced Face Detection simultaneously recognizes up to 6 faces in a photo. Share your group portraits using the Zoom Up function in playbacks, checking each detected face.
- Face Detection Functions During Playback
- Various playback functions include: Red-eye removal during playbacks of closeups and detected faces; by depressing the Face Detection button during playback users can zoom into each of the detected faces in a photo; crop and save subjects in a group and save as a portrait in the camera; slideshow plays back the pictures zooming up on detected faces.

The only compliant is that the photo lense is too close to the top left side resulting in capturing a portion of a finger in the upper top of photos.

I thought I lost my s30, about a year old , so i went out and bought a new s37,couldn't do with out one. I keep it in my pocket in a plastic baggy, so I am ready for most any thing that happens ,I have some good OOP'S, and Gotchas. I am never without it . Now I have 2 S30 and S37, both are excelent Cameras. Thanks Fred Frantum
