This Creative Light 41" Umbrella/Softbox is a hybrid that really works, a refinement of the umbrella as a light modifier. It combines the directional light of an umbrella with the softness of a softbox: as light reflects from the umbrella, it passes through the non-removable translucent fabric covering the "open" side of the umbrella, diffusing the light while maintaining the directionality of umbrella light. Light modification taken to the next level.

Comments about Creative Light 41" Umbrella/Softbox:
I first got the Westcott Apollo Orb. The quality of that product was questionable... very shoddy finish. Also, it was a pain to deal with since the flash sits completely inside the Orb. So much of a pain that I sought to try something else. The Creative Light Umbrella Softbox is so much better, in my opinion. Easier setup and better quality. I recommend this product.

Comments about Creative Light 41" Umbrella/Softbox:
The shortest way to get a diffuse and directional light source. Compact, portable, quick set-up. Good construction, I use it on Strobist, head shoot and small groups. To fit well with in a carry bag whit the light stand and other umbrellas. More practical than a softbox of the same size.
Like we say in my country, "Good, Nice and Cheap"

Comments about Creative Light 41" Umbrella/Softbox:
I use it as part of my mobile studio kit with Nikon speedlights. I always use softbox umbrellas as in my view are even better than any cheap softbox for 2 reasons: 1. much easier and faster to deploy in location and a lot easier to store or transport; 2. they deliver a more uniform light than cheap softboxes. This one is perfect in size for my use (portraits even full body, child, infant etc.) and also the material looks pretty good and durable. I have no negative comments for the moment.

Comments about Creative Light 41" Umbrella/Softbox:
I bought this umbrella/softbox to use in portrait photography in my small studio. The light is very soft, and I find I'm able to shoot with my Alien Bees unit set to 1/8 power and (ISO 200 and f/11). I have two large soft boxes for my older White Lightning strobes and they are a major pain to set up and take down. This, on the other hand, is quick and easy. I do think, however, that I'm going to find a rubber tip to put on the end of the umbrella shaft before I put my eye out by walking into my wall-boom-mounted unit.

We have owned this brellabox for 2yrs. now and it is holding its own. we use it on location for weddings and H.S. seniors and it has yet to fail. One of the best features that we like about it is that it takes many different lights, from our speed lights to our Quantum's. The spread and quality of light that we are able to achieve is amazing and the set up time is great! Side note to CL come up with a strip bank with this technology.

I have used this product with both my Nikon Speed Light and Profoto Compact 1200R with the Profoto Compact Disc Reflector (which provides a flanged collar and keeps the protective bulb glass cover away from the umbrella diffusion hood). The shaft fits nicely in to the Profoto umbrella receiver with just enough friction to push in and pull out easily with out any slippage. Additionally, shaft does not extend out of the other end to present a poking hazard. The quality of reflected light is beautiful for close up portraits, is extremely quick and easy to open, close and store away in the provided case. The only negative is that I wish Creative Light also made a larger size.

This is the best money I have ever spent on photo gear. Easy to erect, simple to use and makes pics with any flash or studio strobe look great! My first use setup took about 30 seconds [...] now it's even quicker! Best deal around!

This product is a great and inexpensive accessory to my lighting kit. It does lose a little bit of light due to bounce.

I was weary about Creative Light at first but once this product arrived I found it to be of very good build. I like the way the modifier fastens to the light (like a hoodie) Great product for the money and I plan to purchase other products from this company in the future.

Very good product for the price. Looks like it would hold up to lots of location work for many years. Will also adjust to almost any strobe of flash. Good quality of light.

Wanted something sort of like a softbox with easier setup for Weddings and on location portraits. It does lose some of your flash power by boucning first.
