Numark iCDMIX 3 - Dual MP3/CD Performance System with Universal iPod Dock
The iCDMIX 3 from Numark is an all-in-one DJ mixer and dual CD/MP3 player with an integrated iPod dock. It enables you to play and mix multiple CDs with the audio from an iPod. Being a self-contained system, the iCDMIX 3 is easy to set-up and to pack-up. The ability to play audio from iPods, standard audio CDs, CD-Rs, and CDs with MP3s, means that you'll be prepared to play and mix almost anything.
Inputs on the back of the iCDMIX 3 enable you to plug in multiple vinyl record players and additional CD or MP3 players. There are two microphone inputs as well. The three channels of the built-in DJ mixer feature 3-band EQ and gain rotaries. Having three channels makes it possible to play both CD decks and your iPod simultaneously.
The two CD decks on the iCDMIX 3 enable you to speed up or slow down the audio by +/- 12%. On both decks you can create seamless loops and cue points. Each side has a high contrast VFD display that (along with the jog/shuttle wheels) make it easier to search for songs in MP3 folders. All-metal construction and anti-shock skip protection make the iCDMIX 3 a great choice for both mobile and installed systems.

I bought this to replace a 10 year old CDMix2 that had served me well. I really like being able to dock my iPod in it but I wish it had a true 3 way fader to go from CD deck 1 to iPod to CD deck 2 all in one fader. Nontheless this is a great portable CD mixer that has alot of upgrades from my old CDMix2 and so far has worked well for my DJ business. My old unit is still working but is starting to show signs of wear...yeah 10 years of gigs without failing, if this new unit lasts as long as that one I'll be happy. One thing I don't like is although I looks like the old CDMix models it is just a little different size and doesn't fit quite as well in my 'expensive' Odessey road case. Minor issue that only applies to anyone that has that case. The Numark iCDMix3 is a great unit with a lot of features and won't break the bank!

Numark updated the iCDMIX3 early in 2011 with several features: Key Lock, a larger scratch wheel, a redesign of the control panel section for the CD players, and rack mounted ears. Most of these makes this product even more useful for the mobile DJ'er. Now you can beat mix the way it was supposed to be done (if you a still playing CDs or MP3 CDs). Also nice is the zone output with its own volume control on the front panel. I also like the fact the the iPOD cradle supports virtually ALL iPODS and iPHONES and you can control if from the front panel. (NOTE: No beat effects can be applied to iPOD music though). I replaced my old CDMIX1 with this unit, and noticed the iCDMIX3 is not as high, but is slightly wider due to the rach mount "ears" that are now built-in. Not sure how useful that is, considering there are few 19" racks (if any) capable of mounting this model that would still allow you access to the CD drawers!
