Comments about Vivitar DF-183 AF Digital Flash For Sony Cameras:
I have tried two samples of this flash with my Sony A-33, and they both grossly underexpose -- except for those times when full power is inexplicitly output, then it grossly overexposes. I have made sure that the flash is properly snapped into the shoe, so that is not the problem. I would assume that this problem would also also apply to all flashes made by the Trumax Flash Corp. in Hong Kong and sold in the US under various brand names, and used with the Sony SLT's.
Also, if you do not mind underexposed pictures, be aware that the shutter will not trigger with this (or any Trumax?) flash when the camera is any flash off mode, nor will the shutter trigger subsequently in any camera mode unless the flash and camera are power cycled.

Would have given it a five star, but haven't had it long. Great for the price!!! It's not heavy duty, but it's ability to bounce flash is great.
