The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZR1 (Silver) boasts a high-powered, 8x Leica optical zoom lens in a stylish, easy to carry camera body. A newly-developed 0.3mm aspherical lens formula provides excellent coverage for subjects from landscapes to distant street portraits while maintaining an incredibly slim and compact form factor. The advanced 12.1 megapixel sensor ensures the highest image quality possible. Panasonic's Intelligent Exposure (iA) Mode delivers high speed AF tracking for moving subjects, optical image stabilization, scene mode selection, and auto ISO to make great pictures as simple as point-and-shoot. Concentrate on the subject in front of you - let the camera do the rest. Advanced Face Recognition allows you to register up to six faces with auto name tagging and optimized exposure. With all of these features and more, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZR1 lets you enjoy making great photographs right out of the box.

Leica 8x Optical Zoom Lens
Leica optics are world-renown for their high quality and exceptional value. Coupled with the Lumix DMC-ZR1, the 8x Optical Leica Vario-Elmar lens provides dramatic wide angle to telephoto coverage. This range represents an incredible 35mm equivalent of 25-200mm. From landscapes to portraits, macro to sports action shots, this optic ensures first-class image quality in an ultra-convenient focal range.
POWER Optical Image Stabilization (O.I.S.)
Boasting Panasonic's newly developed POWER Optical Image Stabilization (O.I.S.), the DMC-ZR1 automatically detects and corrects for camera shake. With twice the shake suppression or MEGA O.I.S, POWER O.I.S provides consistently sharp, crisp, photographs you can be proud of. The technology works seamlessly at any focal length or focusing distance.
Intelligent Auto Exposure (iA)
Taking great photos should be as simple as point-and-shoot. That's the philosophy behind the Panasonic's Intelligent Auto Exposure (iA). Combining face detection autofocus, AF tracking for moving subjects, image stabilization, scene mode selection, and auto ISO selection, the DMC-ZR1 delivers consistently beautiful photographs.
Advanced Face Recognition
Face Recognition is powerful function that "remembers" the faces of your subjects. When the same face is photographed several times, the camera will prompt you to register the face. When the registered face appears in your frame again, the camera will display the name you specified for the person and properly adjust focus and exposure. Up to six faces can be registered, and up to three can be simultaneously recognized to show names and optimize image quality.
Shoot Faster, Longer
The DMC-ZR1 boasts high-speed 1.1 second start-ups, AF speeds of approximately 0.27 second, and up to five consecutive shots at 2.3 frames per second at full resolution. Highly energy efficient, you can also take up to 330 photos on a single battery charge.

Comments about Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZR1 Digital Camera (Silver):

Easy to use. Would've preferred a full pamphlet describing how to use the camera (instead of a .pdf version), but, was still able to download from CD and figure out how to use the camera and its different options.

Comments about Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZR1 Digital Camera (Silver):

Great for travel because very small with high telephoto power. Many extras for portraits and movies that I probably won't use. Would like to be able to suppress the flash without having to go through a menu. Too bad you can't make a camera this small with lithium AA batteries and avoid the charging hassles when traveling.
