Sony TCM-150 Standard Cassette Voice Recorder
The TCM-150 Standard Cassette Voice Recorder is an entry-level Sony voice recorder that gets the job done without breaking the bank. Using affordable and easily replaceable standard cassettes, and powered by just 2 'AA' batteries, the TCM-150 has a low operating cost. The recorder also has a number of useful features including one button recording, a large playback speaker, an earphone jack, and Sony's Clear Voice recording system. The quality of sound is very poor. Such small loudspeaker, of course, cannot provide good sound, but matter is that any tape player/recorder must provide constant speed of the tape. It is absolutely MUST, but this one doesn't therefore sound changes its pitch as the speed of the tape changes. When a record is made with this same recorder it makes sound much worse because unevenness of tape speed doubles.

At our school we have to record testing sessions given to students with special accomodations. With plenty of cassettes and AA batteries at hand these little recorders fit the bill with good recording/playback quality and simplicity of use. All plastic and very light I wouldn't want to drop one, and I wouldn't be too rough with the controls either. But for the price of [$] [...] it's much cheaper and easier for staff to use than a digital recorder.

sony designs some great classic cassette player, I got this for my parents who are not so good with computer + technology.
They use this player mostly to record music+voices during their opera classes.
