The 320GB My Passport Essential Portable USB Hard Drive from Western Digital is a portable hard drive in a durable housing, great for use with laptop computers. The drive features an interface that allows it to be connected and powered by USB 2.0, a rotation speed of 5400rpm, a 2MB data buffer and bus transfer rates of up to 60MB/sec. I use this drive to backup image of my laptop. Is small and perfect to carry around. The color looks beautiful, very glossy blue, the bad thing is that the case can be scratched easily (the Elite versions won't) and the transfer speed is not that fast comparing to Black Scorpio and an external enclosure, i own both ways. NOTE: The USB Dock that comes with the Elite version indeed works with the Essential too (the retail box explain it and i tested to confirm)
