Comments about Western Digital 320GB My Passport Essential Portable USB 2.0 Hard Drive (Real Red):
I have lots of files that I need to access both at work and at home. I had accumulated a sizeable collection of flash drives from 4-16 GB. The Passport now has everything in one place and its small size actually takes less room than all those flash drives. I bought a WD drive because I have two 500 GB MyBooks and they have been 100% reliable. The red color is good; it keeps me from forgetting to pack it up at the end of the day.

Comments about Western Digital 320GB My Passport Essential Portable USB 2.0 Hard Drive (Real Red):
Very slim design, no bigger than an iphone. Plug and play means no software to be installed on your computer. Works with both PC and Mac which is great because I use both between school and home.

Comments about Western Digital 320GB My Passport Essential Portable USB 2.0 Hard Drive (Real Red):
It really is passport sized - tiny, fits in the palm of your hand, snazzy red color for those who care. However, it took 40 minutes to transfer 36 gb. Still, can't complain about the value.

I bought this product about two weeks ago. As soon as I connected it to my mac, it was automatically detected and started backing up my data. It's so easy to install, small in size, and looks nice.

I love these little harddrives. I buy at least one every year for photo storage, a different color every year so I can grab the right one at a glance when I need to find a photo from any given year. :)

Great if you need to store stuff and forget about it. I would recommend going with a drive with a firewire port if you are using it for editing.

Comments about Western Digital 320GB My Passport Essential Portable USB 2.0 Hard Drive (Real Red):
This version of the WD Passport is very easy to use and set up. I actually deleted the software that came with it and use MS Windows back-up software. The extra disk space can be easily accessed as an external hard drive - I use this for storage of picture (jpg) files. The newer 500 GB USB 3.0 versions are getting a lot of bad reviews because of the software, not so with the older version like this one. This is an excellent buy for storage and back-up. It is small and a sturdy connector cable was included. Highly recommend a Case Logic hard shell case for protection. I recommend this particular model of the WD My Passport. B&H processed the order right away and the vendor shipped by first class mail, it was delivered in three days.

I backed up all of the photos I have taken from the past 5 years. This cute, little hard drive gives me so much peace of mind. It is quick and easy to use, and holds a lot of photos. I could put it in my back pocket if I wanted to. :)

I use this product to store and backup all my digital picture files. It was easy to set-up and operates flawlessly. I particularlly like its size & portability.
The only complaint I have is that the case seems to scratch or mar very easily. Would buy it again if I needed one.

I like this thing! I never had an external hard drive before and pictured it as a bulky box I had to find room for. This little thing - with 320GB?? - is the size of a greeting card (a little thicker, tho). Works great!

I primarily use this to back up data. Aside from the hideous red (to each their own I guess), it is a reliable and convenient external HD.
Can't go wrong with Western Digital.

I used this device to supply video to my clients. It connected to both Mac and PC with ease. Since this was only for delivering files the slower USB 2.0 transfer rate was of no issue

Comments about Western Digital 320GB My Passport Essential Portable USB 2.0 Hard Drive (Real Red):
Yes it is not the biggest but it works well. To give you an example I use it to transfer video AVI files of approx. size 2 gig. to another computer. I plug in the USB and create a 10 min.-DVD mpeg2 movie using Roxio. It does this with ease, no problems.
Also you should note that it will play that 2 gig avi file with no problems.
