Comments about Lomography Lomo Diana Instant Back+:
I recently discovered the art of Lomography with the Diana F+, which is amazing on its own. Takes you back to the day when you never knew what your photos looked like until you processed them.
So, consider the high costs of film processing these days, especially 120 format film, I figured I'd give the Instant Back a try. Yes, the film costs a bit more than 120 film with 16 shots, as opposed to the mere 10 shots you get from the instant film. But I figured I'm saving on processing, and I get instant photo satisfaction.
The results were definitely not great. I understand the whole idea with Lomography is the beauty of the mistakes and flaws in the images you shoot, but with the instant film it was extremely flawed. In particular the images were very dark. Low-light capabilities were really bad. Too dark. Also, if you use a flash, yes its great, but heaven forbid there is a reflection or a bright spot, because the bright spots come out as a dark blue, almost black spot at the point of highest concentration.
Overall, as a result I felt it was kind of gimmicky, and the fun lasted for about two rolls. I'll stick with 120 film, and paying the processing fees - I get a CD with digital copies too.
My advice to Lomographers, stick with the true old-school film. Leave the instant photos to digital cameras.

The instant back is fun to use but it can be unpredictable. The very first photo I took came out completely blank. It definitley takes some trial and error to learn how to expose the photo and compose it correctly. It is different than exposing normal film in the DianaF+ Once you get the hang of it, its really fun to have instant photos.

I recieved the Diana Instant Back for Christmas and was able to use it as soon as I finished the roll in my camera. I followed the directions and it was very easy to install on the camera. My dad bought me Polaroid Instant film that's the same size because it was cheaper, and even though the directions say not to load anything but Fugi Instant Max film, I tried it anyway because he bought me 12 packs of it and it works perfectly fine! I LOVE my Diana camera and I love it even more now that I can use instant film in it!! Best present ever. Plus the B&H price was cheaper than the original price, even better! The only problem is that the images are a little dark, even in daylight. The sky turns out beautifully but the trees were dark. Maybe it's just because I have the wrong kind of film. I am very excited to experiment and take LOTS more pictures. Thank you very much!!

I'M SHOOTING ALL KINDS OF THINGS! TREES, SHRUBS,DIRT,FACES,HANDS, ETC. I'LL PROBABLY SHOOT 50-60 PHOTOS, PUT THEM TOGETHER IN FRAME.
FILM IS EASY TO LOAD, UNLOAD. EXPOSURE TAKES SOME GETTING USED TO. COLORS REMARKABLY GOOD FOR QUALITY OF LENSES. LOTS OF FUN.

The instant back is not only easy to use, but makes playing around with light and color such a true joy. I'm a self-professed luddite and am really enjoying a new way to play with one of my favorite cameras.
