The Barber Tech 3-Knuckle Flexi Arm With Hot Shoe is a device that allows you to adjust lighting and other accessories that you use with the hot shoe of your video camera. The unit consists of a three-piece flexible arm with a 1/4-20 adapter on one end a hot shoe on the other end. Attach one end of the arm to your camera and the other end to your accessory of choice to enable flexible movement and positioning of that item.

This little item is a mandatory accessory for anyone shooting with any onboard camera accessories such as monitors, external recorders, or wireless audio. It's not the only cold shoe mount on the market but for the price it delivers a well made, well thought out solution to how to mount any of the above mentioned accessories to your camera. The triple flex arm makes reading displays easier and the height works well when having to route cables.

you cannot bend this arm at 90 degrees. It misses a couple of joints.
I attached a 5 inches HD monitor to the flexi arm, and when I bent it to about 80 degrees, the joints came out. It is hard to put it back, but it is possible. This product could be improve with 2 more joints.

I mounted my external flash on this arm, and when I tilted the flash by flexing this arm slightly (45 degrees or less), the links in the arm separated, and my flash fell (fortunately, only a few inches to the table top). The links don't hold together well enough. Amazing they would even market something like this. I wasn't doing anything unusual. Saw another review for the 1/4-20 mount version of this arm, and the same thing happened to someone else. Beware!
