Use a DVI-A Male to HD-15 VGA Male Analog Video Cable from CablesToGo to connect your computer or laptop with a VGA output to a flat panel display, CRT display, projector, or HDTV using DVI-I input. The cable features shielding to prevent interference, and supports hot plugging of DVI displays.
- Connects a VGA port on a computer to a monitor with a DVI-I connector
- Three 30 AWG analog coaxial lines allow for high speed analog transmission
- Each coax line is individually wrapped in foam-polyolefin insulation and overwrapped with a braided tinned copper shield
- 28 AWG copper conductors are individually insulated in hard-density polypropylene to minimize crosstalk, ensuring high-speed, error-free transmission
- Shielded undermold protects against unwanted EMI/RFI interference
- Gold-plated contacts provide full conductivity with no data loss
- Supports hot plugging of DVI display devices
- PC and Mac compatible
- Supports analog signal only
- Compatible with Flat Panel Displays, CRT Displays, Projectors
- Meets DVI DDWG Standard

I wanted to have a second monitor on my new desktop when running an application which supported multiple displays. I wanted to use my old flat screen but it had a vga connection and my video card had two digital outputs. This cable worked great and saved me from using a clunky adapter, which I didn't have room for behind my computer.

Cheap, well-built, does exactly what it's meant to do. Note this is an analog DVI connector -- you can output from a laptop, for example, but many monitor inputs will not accept this connector.
