The 500GB G-RAID mini2 Quad Interface Portable Hard Drive from G-Technology is a high-capacity portable RAID system that uses high-performance 5400rpm hard disks. The disk can transfer data via eSATA, FireWire-800, FireWire-400, or USB 2.0. It is capable of transfer speeds of up to 114.7MB/sec when connected via eSATA.

I have the RAID 640GB, excellent.
I have returned several RAID 500GB ones due to DOA and fan failures.
Looks like they are cutting corners. :-(
Like I said, get the 640GB one, lot more expensive but workhorse for years.
