Olympus 2GB xD-Picture Card (Type M+)
Olympus 2GB xD-Picture Cards (Type M+) are compact, durable; reusable and removable digital media that provides high storage capacities for high resolution images. They also offer compatibility with most xD-compatible devices and are the only xD-Picture Cards to support the Panorama function found with Olympus digital cameras.
xD-Picture Cards keeps your photo, movie and other files safe and sound so you can enjoy them any way you want (viewing, sharing, slideshows, etc.) and any time. The compact size lets you carry them anywhere and because it's compatible with many reader/writers, you can download data to a computer or another device in a jiffy.
The Type M+ xD-Picture card is compatible with all xD-compatible cameras and is 1.5 times faster than the previous Type M card. The increase in speed may be useful in sequential shooting of digital stills and in the recording of high-density video with Olympus cameras.

I purchased a bunch of these to stock up as Olympus and Fujinon are discontinuing production of the XD picture cards. The earlier Olympus Stylus Tough (and I presume other cameras) have slots for only this. You can use an adapter with a micro SD card but I find those too easy to lose. If you have a camera that uses these, you may wish to stock up. B&H price was the best I found.

I bought this to try the panorama function. But the panoramic images are not stiched in-camera, only when transferred from the XD card to that horrible Olympus Master software on your computer. Better results can be obtained from Photoshop or the free program Hugin.
The card is much slower than a CF card. The only reason to get one is to have a 2nd "backup" card in your camera. I hope this format dies soon.

Use it in my Olypmus E-520 Camera along with my Compact Flash. I need it to use some of the camera functions. Seems to be a little faster than compact flash. Great to have the extra card so I can copy other people's pictures from there compact flash. I got quite the envious glare when I did this without a computer and they coulden't.
What I don't like about it is that it's a propriatory format and only Olympus really uses it.

I utilize this product in my business of doing personal property appraisal. They afford me the ability to use a very light weight camera to take up to 1000 plus photos of subjects included in an appraisal. Converting the photos to a CD is made extremely easy and accurate. I find nothing not great about this product or its quality.
