The PRS600 Sony Reader Touch Edition (Silver) is a svelte 6 inch touchscreen digital reading system that holds up to 350 books at once; and even more when the expansion card slots are utilized. Page turning is a breeze with the touch of your finger and highlighting and annotation is made simple with the included stylus. You'll also benefit from the easy-to-read E Ink Vizplex screen technology which looks more like a paper display and is readable even in direct sunlight.
A single charge, using the included USB cable (can be charged via optional AC adapter), powers the Reader for up to 7,500 page turns (BBeB Book). When it's time to recharge or transfer eBooks, the included USB 2.0 cable allows for both. Formats supported by the Reader Touch Edition include the industry standard formats of ePub and PDF. Adobe PDF, Microsoft Word, and Adobe Digital Editions are all also compatible. The Reader also supports unsecured MP3 and AAC audio files for playback.
Other features include a built-in Oxford American English Dictionary, adjustable font sizes, and quick page turning for reading at a natural pace. And last but not least, Mac and PC compatibility make the Reader a solid choice for anyone looking to build a digital library that can go anywhere they go.

Another typically quality Sony product. One of the higher priced e-readers on the market, but considering the use of these products, durability & relevant features cannot be discounted.
When looking at all products on the market, Sonys offered one of the best performance combined with greatest flexibility to cater for the different formats of ebooks available, as opposed to other cheaper models on the market.
It is a little weightier than others, but a big part of that would be due to the lomg battery life - a compromise worth having if you are a traveller or commuter.

I was looking forward to use my ereader, but I was very disappointed when I got the product. The touch screen is a great feature. But the screen was so dark that even during the day, I needed a book light to read indoors. The screen was great outdoors, under bright sunlight. But indoors, even in a bright room, it was hard to read. I wish they have a button to adjust the brightness of the screen. I returned the item and I am now searching for a new ereader.

I would recommend this product to a friend, with the proviso that the synchronizing software does not work properly.
Bottom line: I would buy it again, if I have to.

Bought this for my wife for her birthday. She is an avid reader and we make many trips to the library and book stores. The Sony E-reader is great because of the selection of books and because of the size, it is so comfortable to hold while your reading. The only thing I bought extra was a 4G memory card and an AC adapter.[...]

Comments about Sony PRS600 Reader Touch Edition (Silver):
I am a true book lover. Although the Reader is NOT a book, and therefore does not have the "book" sentimentality, I LOVE IT! It holds charge long enough for me to finish most books (but I am fast) and it doesn't cause hand cramps from holding a real book open with one hand or have sufficient weight to cause arthritis pain. It allows me to travel with my Bible at hand as well as leisure reading without having to choose or adding weight to my bag. WHAT A GREAT INVENTION!
The downside - be prepared to spend paperback prices for most currently printed books.

Comments about Sony PRS600 Reader Touch Edition (Silver):
Works well once you manage to get around the Sony limitation on downloading outside the USA/Canada/UK.
The actual Reader is nice to use but desperately needs a backlight to the LCD. Being able to control the font size is great, the menus on the Reader itself are nice enough but I would like to be able to control more settings.
However Sony reader PC software is too limiting and you have to use it for copywrite controlled (DRM/epub) books..and it will not let you use more than one PC to download which is a pain in a house with 5 PCs.
