The dimming feature is nice, but I find it obsolete. You're probably going to want to use it on full power, most of the time.
People tend to get annoyed by the brightness of it, but if you're getting paid to film something, you never want there to be a lack of light, and this really gets a nice even light.
You do have to buy your own rechargeable batteries, and make sure the back ups are charged if you're filming an event.

This unit has been disappointing so far. I thought with the number of LEDs it would be very bright. The light throw is uneven but a diffusion sheet taped over the light fixed that problem. The big advantage is power by AA batteries but not sure if it puts out enough light to use with my Sony DSR-250s. The light is very blue as well so it needs to be white balanced out. I still need to test it under more conditions.

I bought this light to help fill in the shadows on some of the shoots I go on. Its ok in places where the light is very low. At the brightest setting, its not too terribly bright, so cannot replace a good camera mounted light. Get this only for a casual fill.

Comments about Bescor LED-35D Dimmable 35W LED Video & DSLR Light:
At full power, the unit is bright. But as soon as you use the dimmer, the light flickers. You can't see it visually. It only shows up on the take. The overall plastic construction is very thin. The access to the battery compartment is difficult to open. The base interface to the hot shoe is very weak.

Comments about Bescor LED-35D Dimmable 35W LED Video & DSLR Light:
I wrote an earlier review on this product. I used many Bescor products and always found them of very good quality. This light is nearly useless for most situations. It is not bright enough for most event conditions and has an uneven throw. It's really too large for smaller cameras. It was clumsy on my shoulder mount as well. The AA batteries and dimmer were great features but they are rendered useless due to the other problems. I had to return the product.

I was so happy to receive this light, only to get stuck with it in the middle of a shoot... the led light causes lines in low light situations! very, very, noticeable lines across the screen, no matter how much you play with your shutter speed, they don't go away.... to bad.

excellent product for the price and it adopts dimmer feature controls of the much more expensive video lights-- great find -- thanks B&H

This light is simple to use with common AA batteries. The mount on this light would not fit on my Sony Handycam. It was lucky I ordered the extra Sony mounting attachment. When using the dimmer knob, lines would show up on my viewer.

i got this 2 weeks ago, and It came for free with my z finder. i was not sure if i was going to use it or how much, but once i opened the box and saw it- i used it a few times, shooting in low light and I think its very nice. i like how you can difuse it and its very light. attached to the camera u almost do not even feel it there. the only problem is that it attaches to the hot shue, so in case u want to attach a microphone or audio gear, you can't anymore. but thats about all the complaints i have, otherwise its a nice cheap nice accesory for shooting video!

This light is very versatile as both video and also I found that it works well as a fill light for stills as well.It has adequate output for use on my 5Dmk2 in video mode. With the 3200k filter in place,it even acts like a mini hotlight, usefull in certain scenerios, such as for headshots.

I got this as a gift when purchasing other gear, this little light works and gives quite a punch, build quality is not too good, cannot compare it to a Switronix or a litepanel one which we own, but for a quick extra light it does the job. You just have to keep extra batteries because this one is not rechargeable.

Was thinking about purchasing for video fill..... and it came for free with the Z-finder. But it flickers even with new batteries. Battery compartment is ready to breakoff/out. Seems a shame to pitch it out......

I use the product for wedding videography - especially to help out with those dark receptions :|
So far, it has worked great and as expected. I did hear a rumor that these will eat through a battery in 20 mins, but havent tested this out as of yet.

The GOOD:
Light weight.
AA Batteries usage is convenient.
A piece of after market diffusion helps with the overall light.
Should work for my immediate needs but I am a little disappointed with the plastic construction.

Comments about Bescor LED-35D Dimmable 35W LED Video & DSLR Light:
I purchased this light with the dimmer option, because I wanted to dim the light down to use it for providing small amounts of on-camera fill light. Unfortunately, however, the light produced by this unit begins flickering as soon as you dial the level below maximum, which renders the dimming function useless unless you're filling in flickering firelight.
Otherwise, it works great at the highest setting. But I think the manufacturer should note that flicker occurs with this light when the dimmer use - otherwise it's misleading.
