    I purchased this battery for my Sony GV-50 8mm "Walkman" style portable video tape recorder. Other options were Lithium-Ion batteries. I went the NiCad route because I didn't need to buy a new charger, since the original Sony charger for the GV-50 was designed for Ni-Cads. The battery charged fine and fit onto the 8mm Walkman easily. It ran the walkman without any issues. Since I recently purchased this battery, I have limited observations regarding its durability, but visually it seems well constructed.

    Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
