I use this camera for everything in everything. I bring it with me everywhere, from work to parties to outings. As you use it more often, and play with it more frequently, you can really use the settings to your advantage to take the best pictures. Resolution is great, screen size is big and easy to use. One downside is that the controls are difficult to operate at times, secondary to size. But that is the sacrifice of getting so much in such a small and sleek package!

I use it to take photos on my daily life, things I like at the street, photos of my children, etc.
I like the fact that it is very light.
I had a Canon Powershot SD700 IS before which took better photos than this one. Its menu was easier to follow too.

If you are looking for a camera that is good for your family, easy to use, not a professional camera, small and easy to carry even in your pocket then this is the one!

This camera is great!
We use this camera mostly to take pictures of our children.
We are happy with the results!
Easy to use!
The only reason I gave this camera 4 stars instead of 5 is beacuse on some indoor pictures that we took- the colors looked un-natural, but that could also be something in the setting that I was not able to figure out.

It has black and white photos with a special cool feature that only selects one color and leave everything else black and white!

I have had a lot of Canon cameras and all have been great except this one. Inside flash shots came out yellowish and washed out. Out side shots were not crisp and clear.
This was all on the auto setting.

Comments about Canon PowerShot SD940 IS Digital Camera (Brown):
I wanted an everyday camera to take pictures of friends and on travel excursions. This little camera suits my needs and then some. It takes good pictures and video and has lots of options for special modes that I have found come in handy. Most importantly, it automatically switches to many of these useful modes (ie: macro) so I don't need to remember to do it myself. One regret I have is that I didn't buy a more weather resistant camera, but that's my own fault.

I purchased this camera to replace the Canon I had stolen and it has been easy to use. I like the new one better as it is smaller and still has same great features. I like the small and easy to recharge battery.

I love this point and shoot camera. I really love the wide lense. Great for outdoor pictures. I was trying to take pictures at a wedding and some of them did not turn out that great because of the weird lighting. I would recommend this camera to a friend.

Extremely small. I took it to a concert and didn't worry about it. It was on my wrist the whole time, so small, no worries.

This is a very good camera for when you want something small to carry everywhere but still be able to take good shots when you want to. I had the 880SD, and the major difference was that with the 940 you can't program the sound & picture when the camera turns on, but otherwise the image is sharper & the control panel is easier to navigate. A very solid little camera.
