Comments about Elinchrom Flashtube (250/500 W/S) for BXRi and Quadra A Flash Heads:

Bought 2: 1 as a replacement for a broken flash tube in my Quadra system and the other as an on-hand backup. Both arrived in good condition. Replaced the broken flash tube with the first one I opened and it works perfectly. The only caveat is to pay close attention when you remove the old flash tube so you can tell which plug-in port is the positive and which is the negative. This is not clearly marked on the Quadra head and you have to look at the ceramic plug to see which is which on the flash tube.

Comments about Elinchrom Flashtube (250/500 W/S) for BXRi and Quadra A Flash Heads:

I ordered 5 BXRi heads and 2 of them came with bad flashtubes. I sent them to Manfrotto for replacement, but they were out of stock. So, I ordered 2 replacements from B & H. Neither worked. B & H promptly sent me 2 more, and they worked perfectly. Out of 9 flashtubes, only 5 were good. Be sure to check these tubes upon receipt.

Product does not have too much instructions to go by. There are 2 poles with a positive sign on one. Problem is which hole does it go in the strobe housing when the + sign in the housing is buried & hard to see. Before you take out the old one,pay attention how you remove it. Also, it has a black burnt spot that makes it look like a defect but is actually part of the manufacturing. bought it as a back up

Got this to put in my bag for backup. Don't want to be with a client on a shoot and have a tube go out and not be able to finish the shoot.
