I use this camera daily and keep it with me at all times. The size of the camera is perfect, no bulk and certainly no weight issue.
My favorite feature on the PowerShot SD980 IS Digital Camera by Canon is the 24mm lens. I love to shoot up close and it is lots of fun with this point and shoot camera. The images are crisp and not distorted.
The 3.0" wide LCD is clear. It is easy to use the touchscreen. I enjoy cycling through my images simply by touching the screen. Magnifying the images is convenient and easy.
The 12.1 MP and image stabilizer seem to do the trick when trying to capture sharp pics. I shot a few images from the cockpit (not stable and shooting through glass). I did not use the zoom due to low light but when I chose a small area of the picture to print the resolution was surprising good.
I don't use it very much but the 5x Optical Zoom is a nice feature. The zoom is quick and easy to work.
I find that the battery drains fast and I do not like when the flash automatically fires off.
The lag between shots is always annoying to me any time I use a point and shoot camera.
I have not used the movie shooting capability.
Overall I am satisfied with this camera.

I was looking for a very small, powerful camera with a nice display to use as an alternative to my DSLR. It is compact and just right for what I needed. My only complaint is that the shutter speed seems a bit slow. I may just have to play with some settings and I'm sure I'm used to my Canon DSLR, which is very, very fast. But, it really is just what I was looking for. I have used the video feature and it is just great.

I recently purchased this and it is a cool product. I love canons and recently dropeed my previous powershot(ixus) in the sand so decided to upgrade. the pic quality is fantastic and the screen functions are really easy to use. the only thing i didnt like was, if its not set in wide screen mode there are black lines on the left and right or the review rather than filling the whole screen, this isnt ideal but i can live with it. I havent printed any pics yet so unable to comment on that.

Touch screen features are great and the ergonomics are good. Lots can be done with this camera but the instruction manual fails to enlighten the user on too many details of the camera

I bought this camera for my son to take to college. He wanted something that was small, took great images and was easy to use. This fit the bill perfectly! He loves the camera, it takes crisp, clear images and image stabilization works quite well.

Comments about Canon PowerShot SD980 IS Digital Camera (Blue):
Bought this camera for my wife to be able to take pics and also shoot video. She found it very easy to use. Nice wide lens for group shots, and the video looks pretty good at 1280x720. I'm a pro videographer/photographer myself, and yet this little baby holds up pretty well. Haven't tried editing any of the footage yet so I'm not sure what the ingest/editing headaches might be as of yet. Only gripe so far is that it's not fantastic in low light (although it's good), and as a result it sometimes takes a long time to actually snap the photo. Overall, happy with the purchase.

This is a fantastic pocket camera. The touch screen is very user friendly, and the large LCD screen is a must for large fingers! As with ALL point and shoot models low light / dark shooting still could be improved but daytime images are crisp and clear. The color is immacculate!

This camera is smaller than my older powershot, better pocket camera... takes clearer, sharper photos on automatic settings, washes out a bit in strong direct sunlight, touch screen is fun! Zoom is okay, low light is better than the old one.

Comments about Canon PowerShot SD980 IS Digital Camera (Blue):
I was a bit skeptical about purchasing this camera because I didn't want to end up wasting money on something I wasn't satisfied with, then having to return it again. I immediately fell in love with this camera when I tested out it's macro quality, you could literally put the camera less than 2 inches away from something and snap a clear bright picture, I was totally amazed! The picture quality was what I was looking for, the LCD screen is very bright and it's touch screen. You could buy a $150 Canon camera but you do get what you pay for, it will definitely not be as good as this one. I actually think the price for this camera is pretty cheap for such a great camera like this. Definitely recommend.
