Sony's ZS-H10CP Heavy Duty CD Radio is a water and dust resistant boombox that's designed for durability outdoors. A protective safe guard bar, speaker guard, and rugged construction ensure that the ZS-H10CP can handle outside settings, even on a job site. Other features such as large controls that can be operated even when wearing gloves, and a footprint that will fit on most shelves, enhance its practicality in work or outdoor environments.
The ZS-H10CP boombox is compatible with CD-DA and CD-R/RW discs with MP3 files and has a built-in AM/FM tuner for enjoying your favorite stations. There are 30 station presets (10 AM/20 FM) for quick station recall. In addition, CD play modes allow for customized listening of your music, while Sony's Bass Reflex Speaker System provides rich, powerful sound. This powerful and beautiful red Sony boombox produces clear sound and plenty of volume for music of any genre. The Sony portable stereo features deep bass performance from a full range, two-speaker sound system. This unit comes equipped with a large, digital jog dial volume control for easy amplifier output management. The Sony ZS-H10CP boombox includes a digital FM/AM tuner, 30 FM/AM station presets, telescopic FM antenna, and built-in AM ferrite bar antenna for accurate, drift-free radio reception. Additionally, the Sony boombox features a CD player that is virtually shock proof with built-in ESP shock protection, two high impact speaker grills, backlit LCD display, headphone jack for private listening, line-in jack for connection to a portable MP3 player, Mega Bass sound system, and MP3 CD playback. Bought three of them for a camp event. I've got a low powered FM transmitter, and none of these would pick up it's signal, from 100 yards away.. Brought them back to DC, and tried them FIVE BLOCKS FROM THE CAPITOL. Smack in the middle of the District of Columbia. Bupkis!
While the units all sound good, if you're buying them for the radio, don't bother. The only station I could pick up was the 100,000 watt rock station. Literally no other smaller powered radio station was able to be picked up. All three of them.
Everything else is fine, but the radio blows.

I only had a chance to use it last weekend while gardening and it was great. I hooked up my Ipod to it and only had it set to a level 5 on the volume and it was loud and clear. I can't wait to take it on the sail boat next weekend. My only issue is that it's a little heavy but it's worth the weight.

This is fabulous! I got it for outdoor fun on our porch, in the yard, on the dock, and in the boat, and it delivers everywhere. Yes, its heavy, but also its heavy duty. I have been through many boom boxes for these purposes, and they just didn't hold up, and actually didn't even sound this good.
I am finally happy. And it even plays my ipod. LOVIN IT!

This radio is a tank. It sit on a pool deck taking the abuse of the high heat and humidity. It has already lasted longer then any other one.
Being in a brick room this radio gets stations that have never been gotten by any other radio in here. Love the color. The sound is clear throughout the whole pool area. Never had that before.
The long cord that it comes with is great incase you have to put in an odd place. The retactable anntenna is nice, still get a lot of stations and don't have to worry about kids snapping it off.
It is nice that you don't have to swap modes. Each feature has the ability to turn on the system. Highly recommended for pool areas. So worth the price.

Ordered this product for my 9 year old because it was bullet proof, however its also a tank(huge.) I ended up purchasing something more appropriate and will have to find a buyer for this box since it weighs to much to send back to the online seller, I would take a $20 hit just to ship it.
