Being an avid snapper at social functions i bought this camera to replace my ageing Sony DSC T9.
The Samsung is not quite an ultra compact, but is still compact enough to be very convenient in most pockets.
The physical finish of the product is a bit questionable, as after only two weeks of use and lugging about in similar manner to my Sony, some of the body paint is fading away - You need to buy a cover which just makes it too bulky.
Features wise, there is nothing that any other new camera can do that the Samsung cant do, and the main reason anybody would want to buy this right now is for the very gimmicky, but very cool front screen panel. Its very useful for self portraits, and also much appreciated by people on the other side as it gives them a bit of feedback on their shot as it happens.
The battery life is not great though. It will last you through one hard day of about 200 snaps with front panel mostly on.
In summary - its a great Compact camera, with poor battery life, and poor physical finish - But the cool Front panel makes up for all shortcomings.

Just got the camera, and I played with it for a few weeks before taking a big trip to Tokyo, Japan.
I like the front display, it could be brighter, but it really helps set up group photos and the countdown timer helps everyone know when the photo is being taken. It's definitely a gimmick, but one that I use a lot and continue to find more uses for.
So, there are a lot of cool features, which you can read all about. The end result were photos that were just "meh". I don't really have a good explanation why that is, but other friends' pictures (of a lot of the same things) look much better. This camera certainly can't come close to a DSLR's optics, but even compared to other PnSs on the trip, the photos are a little flat.
Last gripe... the battery life isn't good. I have never really had a problem with camera battery power before. Typically, with my previous camera, a battery charge will last for a long weekend trip. The Samsung camera would barely make it thru the day. I ended up not taking as many pictures as I would liked to because I was constantly worried about running down the battery and would miss a really cool shot ... we'd plug it in whenever we had the chance.
In conclusion, I think I just need to learn how to work with this camera. I like it well enough, but I LOVED my old camera ... so I think part of it is just getting over that. I say, if you are interested in this camera, go for it.

The camera is slim, elegant, has a very good lens starting at 27 wide, the two screens are great, a huge touch one great to compose and see the shots and videos (720 and 1080i), and the front screen is more useful than what I thought, it helps you compose very precisely on self portraits.

I really like the front view feature that lets the subjects see the picture being taken. I also like the built-in special effects, like crop, and the great resolution.

This camera is great because I use it to take shots of myself for my TV show. Since I am on location and can't always find someone to take a photo of me and my "guest" I can set the shot by looking at the viewfinder on the front of the camera and put the self-timer on and there you have it! A great shot. There are many features about the camera and since I only had it a week I'm still checking them out. The battery lasts and it's really easy to download photos to Mac and to recharge. Probably the only draw back for me is that you really have to press the on button for it to come on but other wise it's really good.

This was a graduation gift to my niece who will be going on a trip to Europe with the bare essentials. This camera is compact, lightweight and can store a lot of images on MicroSD cards. The front LCD will help her to take pictures of her with friends and background.

I use this camera to take photos of my twins. I have a digital SLR, but it is too much to carry around all the time. This camera has been great so far. I really like the front screen. I can finally get pics of me with my kids! I also like that I can put a cute graphic on the front display to get them to look at the camera. I haven't used all the features yet, but it has taken some great photos so far.

Upon buying this camera, I did alot of research. Many website like Cnet.com and other camera sites recommended this camera which caught my eye. I cannot say how much I love this camera. Everything is so easy to use, the features explain themselves on the camera, you are never at a loss for what something does. When I show my friends the feature of taking out pictures from the front of the camera and viewing it, everyone loves it, and it really comes out as shown. The quality is outstanding, very very crisp. Everything is touch, and it not super sensitive that it will pickup the slightest movement. It is just enough, to know when you are using your finger. It is pretty much like an iphone. The camera is light weight and easy to carry around. I bought a small pouch to go with it (Vidpro brand). And B&H sells the camera for a great price, cheaper than that electronic down on wall street. I really love this camera, compared to always getting Casio Exlims before.

I hadn't bought a camera in years and needed one for a very special trip to Paris. Apparently i have some "shaky" hands as past sony cameras yielded blurry photos. Not this one! Images were so sharp and perfectly centered. SO EASY TO USE!! Plus, we had lots of fun with the front of the camera image (also easy to use) - and a life saver so we didn't have to ask so many passersby to take our picture. Super easy to upload and edit images as well.

My DSLR is a great camera, but too big to carry around like this TL225. It fits in my jacket pocket, complete with case, and I hardly know it is there. I also feel like I have joined
the next generation, navigating through the very nice touch-screen. It's fun. It works. It is capable of great pictures. That pretty much sums up the camera. Highly recommended.
