This is my third wireless keyboard for my "couch-PC". Overall, it's a fairly well-designed unit. The trackball is a pleasure to use and the key feel is good. I haven't run the original batteries out yet, after about 2 months. I do miss having a number pad, but including one would be cumbersome from a size standpoint. It's very tightly put together, which is good, as it seems like it will let in less dust/dirt/grime over time. They even included a cleaning cloth in the box, which I thought was a nice touch.
There are a few issues. The scroll wheel is fidgety on my unit, often making accurate scrolling (and scroll-clicks) difficult or impossible. The rubber feet on the bottom of the unit will, naturally, come unglued, and two of these feet must be removed to disassemble the keyboard for cleaning, anyway. Same goes for the rubber bumpers on the sides of the keyboard, which are probably useless, anyway. The media center buttons for playback/volume control aren't well thought-out from a usability standpoint. While useful, their lack of separation/differentiation make it difficult to press the one you want without actively looking at the keyboard (having the volume controls separated and close to the trackball would have been nice).
At the price, though, it's easy to ignore this unit's faults, and I've spent far more on other keyboards that have been less functional.

I use this product to control my HTPC computer. Its really great having a mouse and keyboard together. The range works well across the large 12ft room. The only problem is the track-ball. It seems too loose, I took the keyboard apart and loosened the screws to the circuit board for the track ball, this allowed for a tighter fit.
I would buy this again based on all my research but will see what new products are available first.

Comments about Iogear 2.4GHz Multimedia Keyboard with Laser Trackball and Scroll Wheel:
Range is as good as I need it to be ~10ft.
Track ball is surprisingly responsive.
Scroll wheel is also a big PLUS!
One slight negative: Some media center functions are provided in buttons above the keyboard (this is a good thing), but some other funcitons are doubled-up with the F1-F8 keys and require the FN button be pushed to access them. It would be preferable if all of those functions were added at the top of the keyboard.
That being said, great keyboard at a great price. I'm extremely happy with the purchase.

This wireless keyboard with trackball is a very good product. It feels very comfortable in your hands and the keys are full sized and well placed. Best thing? No drivers or lousy software needed to run it. One of the first computer gadgets I've found that is TRULY plug N' play. The multimedia buttons worked with all four of the media players on my computer with no problem. The only weakness, and it is minor, is the trackball. It could be a little smoother and a little larger. There are function keys to adjust the resolution, but the ball movement is a bit rough and sometimes jerky. Other than that, it is a great device overall and certainly the best of its class that I've tried.

We purchased this for our 4 year old son as we thought that it would be easier for him to use than a separate keyboard & nouse. He loves it! The trackball and keys are the perfect size for him. I have used it a few times with our home theater and it works great from 10' away on our living room sofa. Great product, especially for the price I paid.

I love this keyboard's design - it is a perfect keyboard for the couch. However, it seems to be of poor quality. I've purchased 2 of these keyboards - the SHIFT keys stopped working on the first one. The trackball doesn't work perfectly. And the advertised range of 33 feet is overly optimistic.

Comments about Iogear 2.4GHz Multimedia Keyboard with Laser Trackball and Scroll Wheel:
Being a lifetime IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad Trackpoint guy I've always had a hate for the standard mouse and trackpad. An upgrade to HTPC forced me to use a wireless mouse and keyboard, this frankly was awful. Finding a spot to place the mouse was troublesome. I made due, until utter frustration forced me to look for alternatives. The Iogear was my choice.
On initial use button placement felt intuitive. The trackball after some adjusting was accurate at 1200dpi on a 1080p screen. I really like the inclusion of a scroll wheel, multimedia buttons, and media center keys. The wireless works well and it kept up with my quick typing. Unlike my previous wireless keyboard which had bad wireless reception which caused a delay in keystrokes, resulting in missed letters and a lot of and backspace use.
I've not tested any similar keyboards/trackball combos but I think this one is very good. I don't think most users will be disappointed. The price is a little high but I still paid it. It's the best choice I know of, with good reviews.
I give it a five star, it does have it short comings but overall it's worth it's price value and it meets my needs. I actually don't avoid my HTPC anymore. In fact I actually enjoy using it because this keyboard/trackball makes using it feel more natural.

Use this item for a computer home entertainment set up. Love this keyboard because rollerball and keyboard is in one. small compact no need for mouse pad and the range is the best. Better than all the wireless keyboards. Never lost signal even if 15 feet away. Have two of these. Anyone wanting to get a wireless keyboard set up for their big LCD computer set up get this.!
Comments about Iogear 2.4GHz Multimedia Keyboard with Laser Trackball and Scroll Wheel:
Keys felt nice, trackball wasn't bad either. Sadly, there was no connection when I got more than 1 foot away from the receiver. Tried every step to troubleshoot the problem but had to end up sending it back

This keyboard/mouse is extremely versatile. It's installs and runs in virtually any environment. It doesn't require Windows to be started to work. First used this keyboard to set up Windows 7 on a new custom built computer. It automatically started working when the computer started allowing me to access the BIOS right away.
I hooked up a laptop to an entertainment center and used this keyboard from across the room to get it set up and running, for testing video and audio streaming quality. I can't wait to see what else I can use this for.

Works as advertised. Only improvement I would suggest is a better track ball (rubberized perhaps) with better tactile response.

Light weight, but not cheap-feeling, this little baby lets me sit on the couch and operate my new TV-connected PC 12 feet away. I've only had it a few days, but so far it is totally reliable.

This has faster connectivity. Never loses connection or misses a word I type. Not too small not too big. Perfect size. Only thing I have is they could improve the trackball mouse with more friction so it doesn't feel flimsy. But it doesn't mean that its bad. This is a great buy for around [$]
