Comments about Iomega 2TB MiniMax External Hard Drive:
This unit is plug-n-play simple. I am a tech user, and have used many external hard drives over the years. This product actually left me stunned for it's instant recognition and use by my laptop (MBP 17") and my server (iMac 700Mhz) alternately. The port options allow me to connect it to any of the Macs I own or am servicing. It is fast and quiet as other users have noted, and is right at home with the newer laptop.
I use it to store disk-images of my personal computers and machines I am servicing (clean-install, etc) plus storing media files for access through the home server. It is also small enough to travel nicely to client locations when needed.
I cannot find anything negative about it except that, so far, I only have one of the units!

Comments about Iomega 2TB MiniMax External Hard Drive:
Pros: Huge hard drive. No issues with it. 3 firewire and USB ports, which only makes me want to buy more peripherals to hook up to it.
Cons: Color doesn't exactly match my Mac Mini, but I can deal.

Comments about Iomega 2TB MiniMax External Hard Drive:
My 4 years old ministack decided to quit and i was looking for replacement in hurry. Decided to give this product a shot and so far am very happy with it.
Silver exterior paint is tad too glossy compared to old ministack, but not really a problem. Led, i think, is too bright and distracting but not major issue. Only owned it for couple weeks, but so far i am very satisfied with this product and thanks to B&H for offering at lowest price on the market.

Comments about Iomega 2TB MiniMax External Hard Drive:
So i purchased this drive for my mac mini home theater pc setup. I knew this drive was more expensive but i wanted to use the smallest footprint and this is a fast drive @ 7200rpm. It also claims that it matches the mini aesthetically which was a plus.
Okay so here's what i think of it after 3 weeks use.
1. It's a lot louder than i expected, if you're transferring a lot of files to it you can definitely hear it from 5-6ft away.
2. The iomega insignia on the front is actually a light and it is RIDICULOUSLY bright and it flashes on activity, very distracting when it is right under the tv.
3. The metallic color doesn't match the mini. I thought I was over scrutinizing but my friends have noticed it too. Annoying.
4. The drive doesn't go to sleep, yea...
Overall I really like that it fits right under the mac mini but to be honest it doesn't make up for its faults and its price.
