Benro A-058EX Aluminum Tripod Legs
The Benro A-058EX Tripod Legs are a sensible choice in a no-nonsense tripod for those just wanting good support, speedy use, and compact folded dimensions (17.7" in this case). This isn't a tripod for doing a lot of extremely-low-height shooting or pointing towards the ground or directly underneath the tripod; it is just a solid 4-section 'flip lock' aluminum model, with enough of the creature comforts to make a vacation a little more pleasant. The A-058EX has a 20mm maximum upper leg segment diameter and provides a 'working height' of 46.5", stats which equate to it being just right for a small SLR kit and a steady nearly-eye-level experience.
The A-058EX is officially rated to support 8.8 lbs (4kg), and Benro recommends it for smaller-sized SLRs with a lens of up to 100mm focal length.
The A-058EX's flip-lever leg locks are of the newest technology, and provide reliable and fast use with just a small motion necessary. Benro also has developed a rigid aluminum tubing that's just 1.2mm thick, which along with the extensive use of magnesium in the castings allows this tripod to weigh just 2.6 lbs (1.2kg).

I have used this tripod to take over 150 pictures and it performs wonderfully. The bubble level is great because I dont have a lot of oportunity to shoot on stable ground and the legs are sturdy. The flip locks work very well, I was a little skeptical at first but they hold up to plenty of weight (I have yet to have one creep). The only thing I dont like very much is the center column can be hard to extend with a camera and larger lens mounted. Still, a great tripod and its small and light so it goes places I need it to go. Travel bag has enough room for a small head as well.
