A professional size 5-section carbon fiber model, the Benro MC-98EX Monopod can officially support gear of up to 55 lbs (25kg) and is right at home even with the very largest SLR cameras combined with huge telephoto lenses such as a 600mm f/4 lens. It has a foam-padded grip with a built-in wrist strap. Like any carbon fiber monopod, its capacity to absorb vibration is superior to an otherwise-identical aluminum version. When fully extended, it should easily place the camera's viewfinder at or above the eye level of nearly any user.
The MC-98EX's flip-lever leg locks are of the newest technology, and provide reliable and fast use with just a small motion necessary. Benro also has developed a "QIHM-8X" carbon fiber tube that's very thin and exclusively made from carbon fiber material. Along with extensive use of magnesium in the castings, it allows the MC-98EX to weigh just over 1¼ lbs. The camera screw is reversible for both 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 applications

Comments about Benro MC-98EX Carbon Fiber Monopod:
I use it with the Canon 5d MarkII and the Sony PMWEX1R. It ls very light and easy to set up. The leg extension is very smooth and the leg locks grip very nicely. It's not the cheapest one out there, but if you're a pro, or have money to spend, this is a very nice product.

Performs as advertised. Light enough that my seven year old son carries it for me! Fast enough to set up that he doesn't even lose patience waiting...what more to say?
