The Zeiss cinemizer plus Video Eyewear (Black) glasses let you watch videos from your iPod, iPhone, or other portable multimedia device on a virtual 45 inch (115cm) big screen at a distance of 78 inches (2 meters) in 648 x 480 res. Just connect your iPod or iPhone to the battery box, pick your video, and start watching. Other devices can be connected using the AV-in jack.
The glasses feature a 4 hour battery life and a 2.5 hour recharge time. And, because everyone's different, the cinemizer plus glasses come with adjustable earpieces and interchangeable nose pads. There are even prescription adjustments that allow you to see the screen just right. In addition to the ability to go anywhere and watch your videos, the glasses sport a modern, sleek design that's more like sunglasses than anything. Wear them anywhere without drawing unwanted attention all while enjoying your movies on the big screen.

I bought it to use with my macro and T/S lenses. To do this though you need a special cable I am having great difficulty in finding. It would help a lot if [...] Zeiss would include it at whatever cost necessary, even though it is not needed for the initial intended use of the cinemizer.

I wanted to watch movies that I had converted from DVD to IPOD.
I could watch them on the glasses but the cinemizers are not wide screen, and the DVD's are, so the movies were distorted.
The picture, color and definition was disappointing.
I also expected to see the IPOD home screen, but not so.
I could stream movies from Netflix with the Air Video App. but the picture was bad and distorted because of of the lack of wide screen.
The cable from the glasses to the IPOD connector is so stiff that it is constantly in a knot.
I converted some video shot with my IPOD 4th gen. to 3D but even that was disappointing.
I truly wanted these to work great but sadly they didn't for me.
I hope someone comes up with some glasses like these that do what they all claim and that is a private super movie experience.

I use this product to see my favorite TV series when I´m traveling, all from my Ipod.
The product is reliable and well built. It is comfortable to wear too.
I would suggest that it could have some kind of warning signal when batteries are down. It would be great to make it wireless between the Ipod cradle and the lenses.

Zeiss is a famous brand. Although Cinemizer is Made in China. The quality is pretty good. I use this as the external monitor for Canon 7D camera. Now you have a 45 inch monitor in front of you, plus the sound monitoring. The Cinemizer has a 3.5 mm 4-pole jacket. So you need a 3.5 mm 4-pole jacket to RCA adaptor, or a RCA female to RCA female adaptor plus RCA to 3.5 mm 4-pole cable plus the 7D kit AV out cable. Nice application. Cinemizer is 640x480 for this version. Hope next version will have a HDMI plug and feature 1920x1080 resolution. That will be sweet. Byebye, field monitors, byebye, big screens.
