Comments about Black Rapid FastenR2:
I use this with a different strap from a regular shoulder bag. Works great. Rubber washer creates a good seal. In an online video, the R-strap people recommend that you wet the rubber piece a bit before screwing it on. Seems to help. One thing I don't know is if this piece will tolerate many screwings and unscrewings, so to speak.

Comments about Black Rapid FastenR2:
I purchased the original Black Rapid strap and it came with a bulky 2-piece fastener. This one is much more user friendly and lower profile. If you lenses with tripod sockets, buy 2. 1 for the body and another for the lens. I recommend tying a keeper cord to the camera body if you attach this to your lens. I lost a camera in the river after inadvertently releasing the lens as I put the camera to my hip.

This is a definite improvement over the original ring included with the R-Strap.

Totally affordable and useful.
I only bought the FastenR" without the BlackRapid camera strap because I already have a pretty nice camera strap that says NIKON =) So I really don't need an extra one.

FastenR2 used as a secure connection between Black Rapid Strap and 1" Kirk clamp, which then hooks to Wimberley plate.

Comments about Black Rapid FastenR2:
I used them (2) with a shoulder harness setup similar to DR-1 Double Strap" which allowed me to carry two cameras (100-400 lens w/camera body and 24-105 w/camera body). And I had a comfortable assurance that my gear was secure and in place to access when needed with the least amount of time to set up.

This thing is great. I attach this to the camera. Then I attach a caribeaner to my camera bag. when not taking a photo, I can hang the camera ON my bag, not IN my bag. I don't use a neck strap because i hate those, I use a wrist strap.
Overall, ditch the neckstrap, and get a good wrist strap, and use this to attach your camera to a bag so you don't have to let the heavy camera rest on your neck, or put it INSIDE your bag where it's not readily available.

It's basically a bolt with a D-loop. I got an extra one (for my second camera body) when I ordered my strap. It does a nice job, and having the extra RastenR2 saves me from having to remove and remount on the other camera.

Use with R-Straps. Keep one on the camera body and one on a lens with a tripod collar.

It is a very easy to use fastener that attaches to the bottom of the camera. Purchased for my wife's camera. Easy to install and remove to use a tripod.

Comments about Black Rapid FastenR2:
Actually took the strap from my Canon camera bag (never thought I would use that again), attached the clips to the Fastener and created a very usable and comfortable slingstrap. Rubber washer on the Fastener is perfect for locking it to the camera/lens and not worrying about it twisting off. Well worth the money spent for such a simple device.

Comments about Black Rapid FastenR2:
I had the old fastener that came with the strap. I never liked the fact that I could not rest the camera on its base due to how much the fastener jutted out. The R2 also attaches quicker and more secure. Pay attention when you remove the old fastener in order to be able to put the strap back on correctly.
