The BlackRapid RS DR-1 Double Strap (Black) is worn around the shoulders and is adjustable to fit most photographers. It will carry 2 cameras or lenses vertically at the side. The locking FastenR connects the straps to the tripod socket located on either the camera body or the lens. Once connected, the cameras hang upside down, resting securely at the side.
The difference between Black Rapid's DR-1 and DR-2 is that the DR-1 is for larger framed people while the DR-2 is for smaller framed people. The DR-2 is narrower across the shoulders.

I've used this for carrying two cameras around, or took it apart and also used it as a single strap. It works extraordinarily well for what it is intended for, street and event photography. This product is built with a very specific photographer in mind, it is the best strap you can own. With that said, here's when you wouldn't want to use the strap.
-With regular tripod use you have to unscrew the strap
-If you have to hand off your camera regularly there is no quick way to do it.
-If you like to shoot in portrait orientation it gets awkward (especially without a grip)
-If you need both hands free AND will be making sudden movements (running, jumping, leaning over, climbing, etc).
-If you want to use a backback, slingbag, or any other bag with similar harnesses it will get in the way (I use a Think Tank Photo belt system with good results though)
With proper use your cameras won't bounce around much while moving, but I tend to keep a hand on them when I am running or adjusting myself to awkward positions.
The bottom line is if you are a travel or street photographer, and use two cameras, this is the strap for you. For anyone else, it is most likely a very mixed bag.

Yes, it does distribute the weight of 2 cameras nicely. Did a marathon 14 hour wedding with 2 D3s with no neck/back pain.
But:
- try adding / removing a clothing layer while using it ... not exactly easy;
- scratched pretty badly the bottom of my $5k camera ... eek!
- not conducive to shooting from the ground or up high without aiming through the viewfinder
- no handbook / manual / instruction sheet ... seriously!
- the bottom of the camera is no longer flat and stable. So any shot where you would lay the camera on the ground knowing your shot is straight ... no longer the case. And if you lay your SLR (with a flash on top) on a table, it is pretty much guaranteed to topple over.
- because of the reports on the web of cameras falling to the ground because the bottom attachment had unscrewed from natural motions, I was pretty paranoid the whole time, checking the screw tightness all the time. I should not be thinking about my strap when shooting ... the bride should be my only focus.
- makes you look pretty geeky ...
So my search for a good strap solution is still ongoing. I returned this one.

Bought to use with a Sony A700 & a 500 "Bigma" lens on a BushHawk shoulder stock. Evenly distributes the load across my shoulders greatly reducing weight strain. Keeps the BushHawk ready instantly and eliminated the need for a tripod.

Comments about BlackRapid RS DR-1 Double Strap:
I cant deny that the build quality is excellent. However, all you see in the videos are people pulling up their cameras with a landscape view. The reason- to twist the camera into portrait view is not only the most uncomfortable and limiting position with this strap, it practically cuts into your neck. If you loosen the strap enough so its not as limiting then the whole thing swings around your body. I was able to get the camera on my right side in a tolerable position but there is no hope for the camera on the left. I highly suggest testing the strap first before purchase.
The metal parts also make a lot noise for someone who may be trying to be silent during a wedding ceremony.

Comments about BlackRapid RS DR-1 Double Strap:
Was able to use the DR-1 this past weekend at an 8-hour wedding with 2 Canon 5D Mark II's attached with primes (35L & 85L primarily).
Love the design and functionality. Definietly made my day easier. I need to work on shooting from low-angles without banging a lens hood on the ground.
I also like the fact that it can also separate to be used for a single camera as well.

Comments about BlackRapid RS DR-1 Double Strap:
I picked this up to handle two one series bodies on flash brackets. I like my Original Rapid strap (single), but this fixes all the little nits that it has. The strap no longer moves around, courtesy of the front and rear connectors.
The clevis links no longer have knurled locks, minimizing the potential for scratching the bottom of a body. The strap locking mechanism doesn't let the strap slip through it. I had to tie a knot in my original strap to prevent that.
The only con I've discovered, if you can really call it that is that each side has a strap buckle that is sewn on facing backwards and I'm just not sure what I'd want to connect to it at this point(but I do have something in mind). As a personal nit, I think the clevis attachments are slower to connect/disconnect than they should be.
I gave it 4 stars because I haven't had it long enough to give give it a solid 5 star rating.

I use this strap for my d3s camera and carry my other Quamtum flash on the other whenever my nikon overheats. It is perfect for letting it all hang down when not in used and my shoulder is alot stronger than my neck so no neck pain at all for all day event. The cost is inmaterial for a good product and this is for real a good product, must be a photographer who design this product.

Comments about BlackRapid RS DR-1 Double Strap:
This product does everything it says. It fits comfortable, evenly distributes the camera weight on both shoulders, and the camera bodies hang close to your body, for ease when walking through a crowd. I felt my cameras were secure, and I had easy access to both cameras when I wanted to jump from a 24-70 to my 70-200 quickly. There was no worry about a strap sliding off my shoulder, or needing to spend time to readjust and miss a shot. I would suggest this to a friend.

I use this for weddings. I shoot video with a 5d mark II and 60 d. So during the photo sessions I like to have both cameras with me each with different lenses. Makes for fast shots when time is of value. You still have to watch yourself though and not let the cameras or lenses bang into anything when you are walking and/or shooting. If you need to attach to the bottm of the camera but it's used for something (I have a quick release already attached to a view finder mount. So, I have to ziptie loops around the tie strap holders and carabeener it to the black rapid. Works like a charm though.

I am impressed with this strap. Two heavy cameras, long lenses, after 6 hours I was still going strong. Thinking back on using regular straps with two rigs, never again!

Wow! This is fantastic! I have been fighting with 2 camera's for a long time while I shoot weddings and it kills my shoulders. It's a hassle and the camera straps keep trying to slide off my shoulder.I bought the RS DR-1 before my last wedding that lasted about 7 hours and this thing worked perfectly. I shoot weddings and use 2 cameras, one with a long telephoto lens and one with a prime lens. Both cameras get very heavy during a long wedding day but with this strap I was very comfortable during my last 7 hour wedding day. I am very happy with this purchase and would recomend to anyone who carrys 2 cameras during an event.

I used the strap for the first time a couple weeks ago to shoot a wedding. I loved, loved, loved it. I've been shooting weddings for a few years now and just don't know why I waited so long to get this. Reading the reviews helped and I hope this one does the same for you if you are trying to decide weather or not to buy it. Spend the money, you will not regret it. It comes highly recommended.

Comments about BlackRapid RS DR-1 Double Strap:
This is my second double strap! The first one lasted for over two good years before staring wearing off. It's a must have to hold two cameras without straps going over your face as the regular neck-strap. I shoot over 60-70 weddings per year and the double strap is a must for me. I won't go without!

Comments about BlackRapid RS DR-1 Double Strap:
I bought this for use during event photography. I have the strap attached two gripped pro bodies with various lenses. It is quite comfortable for extended wear, depending on the suspended weight. I sometimes use hot-shoe mounted flashes on both bodies. It does become cumbersome to handle in that configuration. Also, the bodies are not held securely to your side - they will be in a suspended state, and have many degrees of motion. Also, if you have a heavy lens/camera combination on one strap and a relatively lighter one on the other, the imbalance causes the straps to be quite uncomfortable to wear. THirdly, if you need to quickly detach the camera from the strap e.g. to take an overhead shot, it will take some practice.

The product works as advertised. I wish I would have had this with me on my last trip to Africa. That said, adjusting the straps is a bit onerous, otherwise I would have given the product five stars.

I have the single strap as well, but always felt like I needed the brad attachment to make it more stable.
I got this because I just bought my 2nd body and figured I can strap both on like did with the single strap. I haven't worked with them outdoors, but I've walked and run around with both bodies in my house. Up and down stairs...
Perfect buy for any mobile photographer with two bodies.

I have a BlackRapid RS-5 for single camera. It works very well. This double rig permits carrying two pro bodies even with large lenses attached. The system balances the gear and keeps it in position for instant use. It is easy to set up. It is easy to get into even with two big Canons and lenses attached. I do not know how I lived without it.
