Comments about Marantz Carry Case:
Does a pretty good job protecting my PMD661 from the elements, though the buttons are a little clunky to press through the clear plastic. It's still a third of the price of Portabrace's similar case.
I only wish it had some kind of storage pouch for memory cards or something, but oh well.

Comments about Marantz Carry Case:
This came with my Marantz recorder which was a welcome surprise. It fits the recorder well and has velcro flaps to access essential buttons.
I haven't used it much so I'll have to see if I find any flaws in the future.

Comments about Marantz Carry Case:
I use this with the Tascam DR-100. Xlr cables fit through the bottom port very well. Also, you can reach the mic gain, phantom, limiter and speaker switches through the back velcro pannel (normally to reach the battery for the Marantz recorder).
Good for rain, but I would still keep it under my coat.
Use a 90 degree mini adapter to plug your headphones into the side.

Comments about Marantz Carry Case:
Great case for the PMD 661. Clear plastic allows you to press buttons on the front panel while the recorder is closed in the case. Should protect from mist or very light rain. Good quality straps hold cables together and strong velcro sides allow side panels to be accessed. Strap is wider and more comfortable than the included strap from Marantz. Also has a belt loop too.

I wish Marantz designed something as functional with a little more finesse, but it certainly does the trick.
