The HMC 150 Book is more than just a simple overview of Panasonic's HMC150 camera. It not only shows you all the features, buttons and capabilities of the system but tells why you would want to use specific features to achieve certain "looks". For example, the book includes explanations on how to get the shallow depth-of-field look, how to control strobing and shoot 24P (or 25P) for the best results, and how to use the waveform monitor and vectorscope.
In addition to an in-depth look at the camera, you get tutorials on the accompanying CD-Rom. Scene files are also included which you can download to an SD card and upload to the camera. Scene Files for 60Hz (USA) and 50Hz (Europe and Asia/Pacific) are also included.

Comments about Books Book/CD-Rom: The HMC 150 Book by Barry Green:
Contains in depth information not immediately apparent about the camera like optimal aperture range, ISO, noise handling, gamma, etc. Sure I could figure out these things myself, but this book takes care of that for me and for that it's worth every penny. I'm glad someone has taken the time to make this book, the HMC150 truly deserves it. If you're looking to squeeze every bit of performance and understand everything about this camera, this book will definitely help.

There is a lot of invaluable info in this volume. The most pertinent info really should have been part of the manual. It is a shame to have to shell out another 70 buck. Though the book is truly way overpriced, it is proving essential to my gaining a grasp on all this camera can do. The manual and this book combined provide what much of the rudiments needed to get started with the pretty terrific HMC-150.

This book is great. It covers all the features of the HMC 150, many of which you might never use without this book. The most important sections for me are the Archiving section and using the Waveform monitor for checking for proper exposer.

Comments about Books Book/CD-Rom: The HMC 150 Book by Barry Green:
The book covers the Panasonic HMC 150 in detail. Trying to really go deep into learning all there is to know about this camera, the book is helpful, but not necessarily easy to follow. It takes persistance and much rereading. If you are technically inclined, you might find the book easy. However, if your technically inclined you probably wouldn't need it.
