The Archos 9 PCtablet is a versatile and powerful tablet solution featuring a 1.2GHz Atom CPU and running Windows 7 Starter Edition. Designed for portable use, the tablet weighs less than 2 lbs and is 0.7". It can be used to access e-mail, go online, videochat or videoconference, take notes, watch movies, and more.
60GB of hard disk space provides plenty of space to keep pictures and videos, while 1GB of RAM ensures that the tablet runs smoothly. The resistive touch screen is intuitive, and responds to pressure from your finger or from the included stylus. The Lotus Symphony productivity suite lets you create documents and spreadsheets, and the 5 hour battery life keeps you online at home and on-the-go.
- The sharp, precise, and intuitive touchscreen makes typing on the virtual keyboard effortless.
- The Archos 9 weighs less than 2 lbs and is ultra-thin (0.7"), making it easy to carry it with you in your briefcase, messenger bag, backpack, or purse and use it any time.
- The PCtablet button input controls are ergonomically placed for comfortable and natural use. On the right, an optical trackpoint for finger navigation will replicate the big touchpad or clumsy trackpoint to ensure you can precisely point to any position on your screen. On the left, screen brightness, Wi-Fi control, and left-right mouse buttons complement the virtual keyboard, so that your regular mouse controls aren't left aside.
- The Archos 9 features a two-position leg-stand to optimize its use. The upper position is best for viewing videos on the go, surfing the web, or reading. The lower position is ideal when you need to type memos or web addresses, send an e-mail, or chat with your buddies.
- The Archos 9 PCtablet runs Windows 7 Starter Edition. Windows 7 makes the things you do every day faster and easier. With fewer clicks, faster searching, easier browsing, and simpler ways to connect, there are fewer barriers between you and what you want to do. The operating system is multimedia-friendly and works with your favorite software programs such as the included Lotus Symphony.
- With Windows 7 on your PCtablet, accessing files is familiar and natural. Windows Search will transform the way you search and find your documents. Your handy Widgets can now be placed anywhere on the desktop. Whether you are looking for the weather forecast in your hometown, a stock value in your financial portfolio, or the latest movie times, it's right at your fingertips.
- Internet Explorer 8, which comes with Windows 7, will help you enhance your web experience. Web slices make it easy to follow your bid on auction sites, or live sports scores, directly in the browser's toolbar.
- The PCtablet comes with Microsoft Security Essentials. Microsoft Security Essentials provides real-time protection for your tablet, guarding against viruses, spyware, and other malicious software. It runs quietly and efficiently in the background to keep your computer safe.
- The Archos 9 can connect to the Internet via the built-in Wi-Fi card. Access the Internet anywhere from the coffee shop to the kitchen for anything from video conferencing to on-line shopping. Bluetooth connectivity and an Ethernet port provide even more ways to get online.
- The USB port allows you to connect flash drives, external hard drives, printers, or your digital camera to your Archos.
- The ARCHOS 9 PCtablet can play HD videos, whether you want to watch them on the beautiful 8.9" screen or on your HDTV using the port replicator accessory.

- With Windows Live Mail, you can manage multiple e-mail accounts like Hotmail, Gmail, AOL, and Yahoo! Mail Plus, all in one place with one simple program. Sharing photos by e-mail is easy, too. Put them right in the e-mail and send them without big attachments that can clog inboxes. Windows Live Mail is free, and gives you access to Sky Drive. Sky Drive is a free online storage environment that lets you store up to 25GB of files and photos.
