Epson Hot Press Natural Smooth Matte Paper is an acid free, 100% cotton rag media with a bright textured finish. This paper has an extremely-high color gamut and black density. This cylinder mould-made product is optimized for Epson UltraChrome, and Archival Ink.
This fine art paper is not only acid, lignin, and chlorine free, it is also pH buffered with calcium carbonate for a true archival sheet.

Really, quite a nice paper. I was introduced to it from Paul Roark talking about its dmax with pure carbon ink. I had been using Moab Entrada Natural, and its really quite close. But, while Entrada's price has stayed the same, the Hot Press paper has gone down in price, and is now usually less expensive. I like its look a bit better, too; slightly more detail in the blacks, and overall a slightly cleaner look.

The color quality it fine, but like the Epson Exhibition fine art, there are subtle random black or gray markings on the printable side or many sheets , so if you are printing an image with many white or light tones, you have to be very, very selective on which sheet from the package you use. I have not had this with the other papers.
