It's actually my second Asus monitor in a year.
Pros:
It has a 2ms response time which is great for gaming and spectacular color. If you put two monitors together, you will definitely see the difference in picture quality. The monitor also includes a decent built-in speakers, which could potentially save you a bunch of desk space as well as less cables in the back, and you can always hook up your own stereo system if you want. Some people complains about its adjustability, but to me, it's really not that bad considering most LCD monitors are not so adjustable.
Cons:
I think Samsung offers better picture quality on some of their models, but you don't get 2ms GTG response time and build-in speakers. Plus, Samsung will cost you much more.
Overall:
This Asus monitor is a must-buy if you are looking for a great monitor at this price range. B&H offers the best deal you can't find elsewhere!

I got this monitor while it was on sale for a really good price. I have been very happy with it as it arrived very quickly and was pixel perfect right out of the box.
I have it connected via HDMI and running at its native 1080p, I can hardly believe what I paid for this thing... it really does look great for every day computing.
The different viewing modes that you can quickly switch between really do seem to suit their intended purposes for the most part (Scenery, Theater, Gaming etc.), however I would say that the gaming mode looks too bright. I actually leave my monitor set to Scenery 90% of the time.
In general, I would say this is a great screen if all you will use it for is general purpose computing or if you need an extra screen to bump up your current setup, it works great for everyday use. However, if you need it for a more serious application such as design or if you are seriously into gaming or watching movies, then buying a much more expensive screen with better black levels and no backlight bleeding (which this does suffer from when displaying the darkest of darks) might be a better option for you.

Great monitor for only $138 after rebate. First monitor I got had a dead pixel, but BH quickly replaced that. Great customer service that answered all of my picky questions with patience. I would definitely buy another one if I were able to!

This monitor is everything we hoped it would be... nice crisp picture, bright but not too bright, no dead pixels. The stand is a little shaky, but I've seen that with more expensive monitors.
The only problem I had was in registering it online. The site kept on hanging on me. I really don't know if it is actually registered or not. Outside of that, this monitor is pretty much perfect.

Picture is crystal clear, had no issues with setup, and works exactly how I wanted it.
General pain points are cheap buttons and a bad interface. I agree, but how often are you changing your monitor settings? Did not take too long for me to figure it out. Never pulled out the manual.
The base only allows some swiveling. Not an issue for me, but may bother some people.

Previously had an Acer monitor which was given to me that I liked very much. Read great reviews on this ASUS monitor so I decided to buy. I use it for regular computer use, and watching dvd's. Very nice color, and with the 16:9 ratio, widescreen movies fill the screen completely. Glad I bought it.

I use this mainly as my online browsing monitor and my MacPro for photo editing. I have to say that the Asus has a very good color rendition with photos without calibrating it. It came in with settings that are perfect for gaming (bright) and just the right size for everyday use. No dead pixels or any button problems. Basically worked right out of the box.
I do have a few comments about it (negative) - the cables are a bit too thin and looks flimsy, the stand is not really rock solid (the monitor wobbles if I hit my desk) as well as a limited amount of tilt. Other than these gripes, it's a great monitor.

Replaced a 15" Samsung that still works great after 10 years, but no HDMI and smaller frame size. The ASUS has a great picture in HDMI. Not user friendly to set up and tune but once you tweek, the unit display and picture works great. Unit has tilt function but no swivel adjustment.

It's true, once you go big, you'll never go back. This monitor is the perfect size for gaming, watching Blu-Rays, photo editing, etc. The colors are vivid and bright, movies and games never looked so good.
No problems with dead pixels. A bit of adjustments to the color scheme out of the box was all it needed. Sure, the monitor doesn't rotate on the stand but that's a non-issue. After weeks of research, I'm glad I pulled the trigger on this one.

My primary focus was on responsiveness. I got that and more. This monitor hit all of the high points for me - from a swift response time to full 1080p HD capabilities.
