The CD-200i from Tascam is a professional-quality rackmount CD player designed for installation in retail stores, restaurants, houses of worship, and other venues. The player is compatible with audio CDs, MP3 CDs, and WAV CDs, and has built-in support for CD TEXT and ID3 tags. A memory buffer helps prevent shocks and skips for smooth playback. Playback modes include Continue, Random, and Program, as well as Repeat Single and All.
The left side of the unit features a sliding tray which reveals an iPod dock. Simply drop your iPod into the dock, and the player will send the audio through the system to the appropriate outputs. You can even output iPod videos via an S-video connector. The dock also provides power to the iPod so that the battery doesn't run dry.
The player also offers a ±12% pitch control, available through the RCA line-level outputs. For digital connection, the player offers both coaxial and optical S/PDIF outputs. A front-panel 1/4" headphone jack with an independent level control provides easy monitoring. A wireless remote control is included that gives you full control over all player functions, including iPod playback.

I like having both in one double rack mount space the only other alternative is two have two separate units which takes up twice the space plus 2 plugs on your power strip.
The iPod dock tucks neatly away with a push.
The CD player plays regular CD or MP3 discs with no problems.
The video out for the iPod is a cool feature but I haven't tried it yet so don't know how the resolution it...
It would be nice if it had XLR output & a bigger screen other than that it does what it is supposed to.

1. Home stereo system, ready interface

3. Lack of iPod media information displayed on the CD200i is a disappointment - i.e. not ready for prime time
4. Remote lacks volume (output) control capability

Comments about Tascam CD-200i Rackmount CD Player with iPod Dock:
We use two decks for simultaneous playback for performances just in case. Using the remote to play both at one time is quite helpful.
In our dance studios, choreographers can plug in their iPods and use the remote to control them instead of making trips back and forth to the player.
The deck is used approximately 8 hours a day, 6 days a week.
Rack mount ears are good for touring the decks in road cases.
I would like this player to have single track playback mode

I use this product at our church in the A/V booth. Like the fact that it has an Ipod dock. It is easy to hook up.
I wish it had a slot for either memory sticks or SD Cards.
